The retreat is a custom built home on a 1.8 acre Riverfront, Lake Superior view lot. Features a relaxing Master Suite with top of the line Kohler whirlpool bath tub and fixtures, separate glass encased shower, marble floors, custom cherry vanity and two decks. One with stunning Lake Superior and river views, the other with peaceful views of reflecting pond and trees. Solid oak custom built stairs lead to suite. Retreat also features unobstructed views of the Sand River Bridge, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Living room, dining room with gas fireplace and spectacular lake, river and bridge views, kitchen, deck, 24x30 recreation room with 15 foot L-shaped solid oak custom-made wet bar and modern electric 6 person cedar sauna with shower. The river is great for canoeing, fishing, kayaking and other water sports and has great access to beautiful Lake Superior and sand beaches. Home is near hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling & snowshoeing trails, hunting and many other outdoor activities. The spectacular Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising is also a reasonably short drive from the home, along with the Ojibwa Casino Marquette, which is 6.9 miles away and the Kewadin Casino in Christmas is just over 20 miles away. The location is 17 miles east of the city of Marquette, which was recently designated as one of America's Most Livable Communities. In October 2010, Forbes announced their "Ten Best Small Cities to Raise a Family," and Marquette was designated #3 in the nation. Marquette was designated a "Bicycle Friendly Community" by the League of American Bicyclists in April 2010.
