This moment feels so emotional, so surreal. My heart is full, yet I can’t help but wish my dad were here to cheer me on with that unmistakable cheer—if you knew him, you know exactly the one I’m talking about.

He always believed in me. He always encouraged me to write. I carry his legacy forward as a writer and poet, just like him.
