We have McFamily members in great need ... As you no doubt have seen, Ruidoso, NM is battling the South Fork and Salt fires which have displaced the entire town and destroyed its infrastructure. Rost and Ashley Karpenko, McDonald's Owner/Operators in Ruidoso, have employees currently in shelters or staying with families while first responders fight these fires.
There are almost 70+ employees without income right now and Rost & Ashley are trying to raise approximately $1,000 per employee to help with food, temporary housing, diapers for children and any other current and upcoming needs. This has been incredibly devastating for these families and even a small donation goes a long way.

What a week for the Fitzgerald Petersen team, helping mark a historic moment for our client, the High Line Canal Conservancy! Through a very successful press conference, it was announced that the Canal is now permanently protected through a conservation easement deeded by Denver Water to the High Line Canal Conservancy, and with it, the transfer of ownership to Arapahoe County of nearly two-thirds of the iconic greenway. This collaborative and visionary move ensures the protection of the High Line Canal as a treasured natural open space for today and future generations of walkers, bikers, and nature lovers.

A HUGE CONGRATS to McDonald's Owners Patricia & Steve Aragon, as they're celebrating the grand re-opening of their McDonald's in Albuquerque, which is the VERY FIRST McDonald's restaurant to open in New Mexico (in 1959). New Mexico McDonald's Owners & the NM Public Education Department launched their fifth year of partnership! Over 800 teachers from all over the state gathered at the Albuquerque Convention Center this week to learn about the expansion of the Level Up for Literacy statewide campaign. McDonald's local Owners - Steve and Patricia Aragon & Jack and Jana Robertson - along with Toni Taddonio from the Mile Hi Food Foundation, were in attendance to make remarks to the group, give out teacher awards & support the launch! This campaign - which incentivizes students to read - is WORKING with teachers reporting that their kids are excited to read more, which in the 2024-2025 school year has expanded to reach EVERY SINGLE CLASSROOM IN THE STATE with the book 'This is New Mexico / Estu Es Nuevo Mexico.' Classrooms also receive a McDonald's coupon for a free Happy Meal for their class Super Hero Reader. Next fall we'll have local Owners into classrooms for read alouds with the characters from the book - Ralph the Reader & Ricky the Roadrunner!
