The off- season has started! Whale watching season has wrapped up at Whale Research Eco Excursions and the Whale Bites Cafe is now on Winter Hours. And, now our Winter rates are in effect, through February 28, 2026!
Don’t miss your chance to visit the World’s Smallest Navigable Harbor without crowds and lots of off-season specials!
There’s still lots to do, from the Oregon Coast Aquarium to the Outlet mall to storm watching!

First off, we miss you too! Now that our touring season has come to a close, we still want to share the whales with you. Depoe Bay seawall and viewpoints are the best spots for whalewatching.

From Oregon State Parks:
"Spring watching begins in late March as the gray whales travel north on their way towards Alaska. The first surge swims past Oregon around the end of March, and we watch the north-bound whales all the way until June.

Summer and Fall bring Oregon's resident Gray whales close to shore to feed. These are the approximately 200 whales that remain in Oregon's coastal waters during the summer migration. The central coast in particular is a hot-spot for whales from June to mid-November."
