IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
Earlier this year I purchased a building that was built back in the 1880’s. When it was originally built its purpose was to host gatherings where people would come together for fellowship, worship, and to get into God’s word, also known as “Church”.
This building needed A LOT of repairs and renovations, but it had tons of character and I was up for the challenge. My original intent was to renovate the building and add it to my real estate portfolio but as I got deeper involved in the renovation, I started to become attached to it as if it were to be my own space (this never happens on my projects).
I’ve had thoughts in the past about if I were to ever build out an office space for myself what would be on the wish list?
Worship Room- I love to worship and take time to be still in His presence. It’s the only way I can attempt to be a good Husband, Father, Friend, and Entrepreneur. For me personally, I must do this daily, not weekly. 1 Chronicles 16:23 “Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.”
Workout Room-I’ve always enjoyed working out but with the busyness of life this activity typically falls down the list of priorities even though I realize the importance. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
Coffee/Smoothie Bar-I NEED COFFEE, no scripture reference needed.
Fellowship Area-I wanted a space where other believers could sit around and simply talk about life. Life can get tough, and we weren’t meant to live this life alone, but in fellowship with other believers carrying one another’s burdens and encouraging each other along the way. Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
After feeling that pull towards this building during the renovation I had to pray and ask the Lord what that was about and I felt Him leading me to keep this place for myself. IT HAPPENED AGAIN. Towards the end of the renovation I felt the Lord lead me to not only use this space for myself, but it is to also be used by others (exact same thing happened when we built what is now known as the Selah Cabin).
So, I share that long story to introduce The Selah Co’s newest property, The Selah Gathering located at 9428 Kingston Road in Shreveport, La. Our desire is that this place will be used for believers to come together to fellowship, worship, dig into His word, and to take time to be still and hear His voice. Whether that’s someone who has or wants to start a small group/bible study and needs a space to gather, or maybe an individual who needs a quiet space to get alone with the Lord. We will be offering this space for mornings (8am or earlier) and evenings (5pm or later) free of charge. If you have interest in renting the space for business purposes between 8am-5pm you can message me for rates.
Feel free to share with your friends and family!
