Thanks to everyone who made 2021 a great year. We booked 44 weeks.
With that, some repairs and maintenance can’t happen until the winter.
One thing that can’t be done until this off season is the pool being replastered.
We’ve been assured by the pool vendor, who’s also a licensed CPO, that the water is safe even though the bottom of the pool looks “dirty”.
This is a cosmetic issue only. With 100’s of guests every year visiting these pools get much more use than your normal household pool.
If the pool was unsafe not only would we as owners shut it down and repair it immediately, Twiddy would mandate we close it and get it repaired. Loss of revenue does not trump the safety of our guests.
We are getting ready for a busy off season of repair and renovations.
New composite decking
New cabana style covering for above the outside bar
And replastering the pool…. This was already planned after I we stayed at the house in May.

Hello all

Thank you to all our guests. We’re honored to have you stay at 5 o’clock somewhere as part of your getaway.

Some new changes have taken place already and we will be doing more updates and upgrades as the year progresses and in the off season.

We understand you have many choices and we do take the time to read your reviews and suggestions.

We changed our pool to a salt water system.

We will be installing a new drop in stove top May 2021.

We have upgraded our electrical capacity and ordered a LEVEL 2 EV Charger. We know most don’t drive a lot once they get to town but this will allow our guests to charge without having to go into town to do so or top off their charge before leaving on Sunday.

We will be installing new wall ovens.... if time permits this season. If not, then new ones will be installed in the fall. We are booked straight through October 2021. If we feel we can install the new wall ovens during a changeover we will get that done.

After a few people requested an additional full size refrigerator, we will be adding one to the top floor. This will entail quite a bit of work since there is no room as of now....so we will be doing this in the fall/winter of 2021/22.

We installed new audio receivers in the theater room and 3rd floor family room.

We will be putting a TV on the bunk room.

Also, we are in talks with a contractor to make the sun deck over the pool bar a more user friendly space. We’ve got many suggestions from guests that in the hot months it’s only bearable for a short amount of Time. Our goal is to make at least a portion of that a covered (maybe semi enclosed) space so people can enjoy that area longer.

As always, we welcome any suggestions you have. As owners, we enjoy using this home as well and will continue to make 5 O’Clock Somewhere your home away from home.
