Carving in Lecce Stone
Lecce's white stone is part of what makes the city so uniquely beautiful. It's a particularly malleable limestone, allowing it to be carved into the beautiful and intricate designs you see all over historical buildings in the city. Over time with exposure to the elements, the stone hardens and becomes durable, freezing the art into place for centuries.
While in Lecce, we had the incredible opportunity to meet local artist, Gabriele Pici, and try our hands at stone carving. 🕯️🔨 What an extraordinary experience! ✨💫
