We set off for the ancient ruins of Knossos Palace, steeped in myths of labyrinths and Minotaurs. Once the thriving Minoan capital, Knossos holds the title of Europe's oldest city, with its peak in 67 B.C. After exploring, it's off to Heraklion, Crete's current capital. There, enjoyed shopping, dining, and soaking up the city's rich history before returning to our cruise ship, ready for the next adventure.
Some ventured to the White Mountains on a safari tour, with their driver unveiling local insights along the way. In the quaint village of Therissos, they delved into the Cretan shepherd's lifestyle and explored an authentic shepherd's hut. A group lunch with traditional Greek fare was a delightful pause before they set off again. Back in Chania, they embraced the old city, each finding their own little adventure as they explored at their own pace.
