Vilas County snowmobile trails and routes will temporarily close March 2 at noon. The warm weather and high traffic mean our trails don't meet the high standards set by the Vilas County Forestry, Recreation & Land Department and the Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance. Trails will reopen once more snow has fallen and trail conditions are safe.

Due to our winter weather warmup, the Ice Castle didn't quite make it to March. Thank you volunteers for safely building and demolishing this amazing structure. Check out the Eagle River Fire Department post to get yourself a snow globe immortalizing the 2025 Ice Castle design.

We took down the ice castle today. We want to thank everyone who came to see it and made donations. Although we are sad to see it go, we are already planning and preparing for next year!

❄️🏰 There's still time to see the Eagle River Ice Castle! But that time is running out. ⌛️ The Eagle River Fire Department anticipates a safe demolition by March 1 after removing lights by February 24. Thank you volunteers! 🙌

The Eagle River Ice Castle is nearing the end of its season, and we expect it to be down by March 1st. The lighting will be removed after February 24th, so be sure to visit before then to see it illuminated one last time!

Looking for a sleigh ride through the Northwoods this winter? We have a few options: 🛷 Kartway & Rocking W Stables Their 3-mile trail includes scenic views, a bonfire, and hot chocolate! Their rides run from December 14 through January 1. 🐴 Haven Pines Located 5 miles west of downtown, their roughly 50 minute rides run from now until February 22 (Weather permitting) 🐶 Top of the Hill Huskies They are just northeast of Eagle River in Phelps, and offer sled dog rides from December 23 through March 17 (Weather permitting) 📸: Haven Pines

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center was established in 1948 by a group of local business owners with the goal to improve local business methods, advance area conditions and advertise and promote the growing tourism industry. Sixty-seven years later the Chamber still operates under the same philosophy.
