Nestled at 114 Madison Avenue, the Bronson House stands as a testament to the area's storied past. In 1816, the site was home to the Eagle Tavern Inn, owned by Thomas T. Napier. William Wilkins later acquired the inn in 1830, and in 1835, Andrew and Alexander Sydney Reid took ownership, renaming it Reid's Hotel. By 1846, Andrew Reid transformed the inn into a private home.

The Greek Revival House boasts twelve wooden Doric columns, a stunning feature that adds to its historical charm. Over the years, it changed hands, with notable owners including Francis Asberry Leverette, James M. Rainey, Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Foote Bronson, and Eunice Bronson (Frank P.) Stubbs. In 1985, Stubbs generously donated the home to the Eatonton-Putnam County Historical Society, preserving its legacy for future generations.

As you walk up to it, be prepared to be transported back in time as you explore this historic gem's elegant and intricate detailing.
