Eagle River Winter Midges
The curse of the first cast fish is real. Oh well. We are finding a few on the surface during the right time of day. The warmer weather this week should help.
It has been fun dodging shotgun shells east of Denver. The Bluffs at Valhalla & Valhalla Kennels and Gun Dogs offer amazing Upland Bird Hunts in Colorado.
November: Eagle River Colorado
I find it therapeutic watching trout come to the surface. Especially this time of year when they slowly rise to adult midges. The slush has now found its way down the stream but we are still seeing a few trout poke their noses out occasionally. It is difficult to hold a camera instead of a fly rod while observing trout eat. But, we can certainly learn a lot from simply watching. Don't you think?

Rainbow Trout: Streamer Eat
Been spending most of the summer in the middle of a drift boat. Got behind the camera last week and found a toad in some fast water. Hope you are all enjoying the summer. Elk season in 25 days.

Alaska Lake Trout: Alagnak River
Stumbled upon this clip today while digging through an old hard drive. Good buddy and fish wizard Jeff Brazda stung this Laker at the head waters of the Alagnak River just before our 70 mile float. The mosquitos where almost as thick as this fish.

Cody's Mouse
Fishing with a mouse pattern is much like a round golf. It can be very frustrating, but once in a while you make a good shot and that is what keeps you coming back. We will be trying to capture more mouse eating trout content this summer.
