No things are not perfect, or back to normal. Wilkes was largely spared, and we are standing with and supporting our neighbors during while they rebuild. Our small businesses, farms, restaurants, and artisans need your support, many of whom are giving out of their own pockets and businesses to help with storm recovery.

Fall is the time when many businesses find out if they will make enough to survive until next year. Please, use these routes as a guide and do not venture off unless you know your business or attraction is open.

Please call ahead to make sure the business is open, accessible and accepting credit cards. Please consider buying gift cards now and visiting later. Many families are still rebuilding their lives and homes. Please respect their right to do so and travel responsibly.

We want to thank everyone who has checked in on us and our property since Hurricane Helene. We are okay and Frog Holler didn’t receive damage. Standard Street in Elkin was flooded, but roads into Elkin are open. The wineries are open as well. However, our neighbors in Western NC are in much need of your prayers. So much flooding and devastation.
