I just finished up our Christmas cards and sent them out. Later in the day I found my six-year-old crafting nearby my supplies... and stamps. I had an extra book of unused stamps that I couldn't find right away and quickly made the assumption that she had used all of those special stickers. Thankfully, I found them unharmed. I figured it would probably be good to explain the significance of stamps... especially at their hefty price tag of 73 cents per stamp. She told me she almost used them, but saw the bumpy part and realized they weren't stickers. Phew! Thank goodness for those bumpy parts! 📫

The kids have been off school since last Tuesday. It has been very snowy. I am ready to send them back. Today we got a message from our school district that school will cancelled tomorrow because of a staff shortage due to employees being trapped in their homes due to large quantities of snow.
So, the kids will be home.
For another day.
Trapped in the house because of large quantities of snow.

Today I received my last print order of this year's weddings. I am not going to lie, it was a little bittersweet. Paging through the memories that arrive in the mail is a task that I thoroughly enjoy. There is something about taking the digital and creating something tactile. It matters.

Anyways... Dear 2024 Brides and Grooms, You did not disappoint. Every last print that arrived in the mail filled my heart and brought a smile to my face as relived your days. I am thankful that I was invited to have a seat at your table. You all are THE BEST. ✨

My 10-year-old just asked me if I did "Black Friday." I told him yes and that the actual Black Friday consisted of waking up at 5:00, arriving at the store at 5:30, waiting outside in the dark and the snow until the store opened at 6:00, and being rewarded for your hard work with a plastic Mickey Mouse ornament from J.C.Penney and a coupon for an extra 10% off. He looked at me confused and then walked away. 😆

If you know me at all, you know I am a sucker for a silhouette. Every mid-November I take my own crew out for a silhouette at sunset photo of our own. Today was that day for us. I haven't sorted through them yet (lots of self-timer fun and thousands of other photos still to sort through), but I had to share a few bloopers in stories. It's worth a look. 😉

I got a new laptop two years ago. It was set to central time. I changed it a few days ago and now feel like I had another day of daylight savings. Let me tell you, two hours reclaimed is even better than one. *Don't ask me why it took me two years to change it. Maybe was fun to do math every time I checked the time? I truly don't know. ⏰
