I had the privilege taking Tony, Ratu and “Ms. Greta” fishing yesterday in an event for kids who are surviving cancer. The event is organized by a number of groups and individuals who come together to help these kids live in the moment and just be kids. The event included kids with cancer, their siblings, parents and athletes from the University of Oregon and from Oregon State University. Thank you to the Association of Northwest Steelheaders -Emerald Empire Chapter, McKenzie River Guides and the Candlelighters for organizing such a powerful and humbling event!

Streamers are a really fun way to catch trout on the Mckenzie River. This fish in particular fell victim to the “Beast Mode,” a 3.5 inch articulated fly with a tungsten cone.
