Planning my amazing adventure. At first I was very worried about traveling on my own. Would I be lonely? Would I get bored? But I realized when I travel by myself I can do what I want. I can go as fast or slow as I want. I can go to Hyde Park and do a reading if I want or jump on the tourist bus and visit Buckingham Palace. I can go to a book store or find London's oldest tea shop for a cup of tea.

The more I research the more I realize that this is exactly what I needed to do. Even though I would much rather be going with Kaitlyn, I am finding that I can do this on my own and it's going to be amazing.

I have so many places I want to visit that my biggest issue is going to be able to fit it all in and not take the time to enjoy myself. Vacations have always been nonstop for me so this is going to be challenging.

For my photographer friends…. When you vacation do you use just your phone or take your favorite dsl? I have seen a few videos that say not to take your dsl camera anymore because it shows your a tourist, weighs you down and asks for someone to steal from you. Hmmmm

Yes taking photos with your phone is easy and quick but even as good as phones are now a days I don’t think it can compare to my canon or Nikon

Last night, I witnessed my son navigating the vast city of Seoul through the magic of video chat. He explored the unfamiliar surroundings alone, facing the challenge of being in a place where communication would be a hurdle if he needed assistance.

I observed with anxiety, imagining the possibility of an attack in those alleys. Helpless at home, I pondered the fear of him getting lost, unable to find his way back to the train station. The maternal instincts surfaced as I fretted over my youngest son.

I observed a transformation as my young son ventured into the unfamiliar, evolving from my little boy into a resilient young man. His exploration made me reflect on my own fears, realizing that to explore this vast world, I needed to overcome them. Although I loved travel, the prospect of solo journeys had always concerned me. Inspired by my son's advice, I understood the importance of not limiting myself and following my dreams wherever they may lead.

Halfway across the globe, my son remained unaware of the profound impact his Christmas journey had on my life. Grateful for the experience shared through video chat, I've chosen to heed my son's advice. Rather than restricting my travels to the US, I've decided to embark on a dream trip to London!

Three days spent exploring London, followed by a five-night cruise to Hamburg, Germany, and Brussels, Belgium—a solo adventure sparked by the resilience of my son.
