Peeps is on the smaller side, but what she lacks in size she makes up for with attitude. She’s a queen of the side eye and is very good at communicating when she’s bored with photo shoots or silly human games. We have a new yurt puppy! This little fluff ball is a Pyrenees/Maremma mix aka a large breed livestock guardian dog. She’ll accompany the reindeer on packing trips when she’s older and help us keep unwanted visitors away from the herd. We don’t have a name yet for her. Any ideas???

Little Spider’s first strolls without mom! For most of our calves, this event is no big deal, but for Spider, it’s a milestone! The reindeer all have different personalities with some being more agreeable to playing our silly human games than others. And more important than our human games, halter and lead rope training are crucial tools in veterinary care. With patience, repetition, and lots of lichen, we’re winning Spider over. 🙌

We are a collective of young outdoor enthusiasts who have made Alaska our home. We pride ourselves in adventure and have embraced the Alaskan way of life. We live off-grid with Alaskan Huskies & Reindeer in log homes & yurts that we’ve built by hand.
