Creative with clay Visit my website at http://www.creativewithclay.com I love to create unique colorful pottery inspired by Indian fabrics, colors and embroidery.

Having lived in India for a significant part of my life, color has always influenced me especially with my mother running a boutique designing clothes for brides and bridesmaids. My work also reflects my love for Bollywood movies and my fascination with life in India. I strive to give life to clay, decorating it with Indian influences. My favorite are the real muddy colors I got from the mixing the left overs and dyeing pieces of a colored cotton bedsheet. Which one is your favorite?
Got great tips from online class.

In case you were wondering… I am still making mugs…
At the Whidbey Island Spin-in, I was asked by 4 people if I had quit making mugs. (This is in spite of having mugs at the event).
It is true that I have been focusing on teaching spinning this year and not vending at my regular shows like Fiber Fusion and Black sheep gathering this year.
I am also working on my quilts, but regardless, I am still making mugs and fulfilling my online orders.
If and when I plan to quit… I will let you know. 🙏

The one thing I love about the Whirligig is that it makes my art yarns looks so good (even with a mess of fabrics behind 🤣).
Going to work on a video on finishing art yarns for Patreon. Stay tuned

Right 2/3 reds has been seamed with some simplification from original design.
So many partial seams! I have done may be one or two partial seams in an entire quilt, but because the order of sewing, this one kept throwing me off.
There was a lot of use of the seam ripper and a lot of partial seaming along gentle curves.
One good thing is that I got better at it. 😁
Now the left needs to be tackled

The white bit of fiber in between is to separate the braids.

I needed to wash some fabrics for a garment sewing class and thought I should also wash all my solid dark fabrics in the same wash. That is in preparation for another workshop I am hoping to get in.
I had put in color catchers just in case but fortunately there was very little color bleed if any.
But Oh what a mess of tangled, roped, highly wrinkled cotton to deal with. Some tips I got were to zig zag the edges to avoid fraying and removing from the dryer while hot and fold right away.
Took me more than 2 days ironing these to be in a foldable stage.
Next the light colors… 😅

Crochet blanket that I started in 2019 is finally done.
I had finished crocheting and blocking the blocks in 2021 and then they just sat in closet as I didn’t get around to seaming them.
Big THANKS to for seaming the blocks for me and she did such an amazing job.
I crochet the scallop border, wove in all the ends, got blocked again and it is DONE!
I have a love hate relationship with crochet… seeing it finished is giving me some thoughts 🤭
