Having lived in India for a significant part of my life, color has always influenced me especially with my mother running a boutique designing clothes for brides and bridesmaids. It is done and needs a name. Does naming get easy?
I have always had trouble naming anything. People name their sewing machines, looms, spinning wheels, etc.. I have tried naming them but never ever to them that way, but just by the brand name.
I would like to have a simple system of naming quilts, Quilts 1, Quilt 2 etc.. 🤦🏽‍♂️

New challenge for me.
I joined Improv that block squad and today was the free scrap play class.
I am challenging myself to use only gray, whites and blacks for all the blocks we make during this series with the hope that they can be combined for a larger quilt at the end.
Let’s see if color has to sneak in at some point. 🤣

Thought that putting some on the design wall would give me an idea of what to do, but instead it is just overwhelming.

4 posts with my quilts. I had 5 of my quilts in 4 shows in 2024, which was very promising. (It is a different story that for 2025, I have not gotten any acceptances 🤭)

Last finish for this year (I think 😁)
I had started these handwoven towels this year after my visit to to teach spinning. Staying at .mcatee home, I loved the use of her handwoven towels and had to set up my loom as soon as I got home.
Second picture shows the imperfections and mistakes but after washing I love the texture and they are so absorbent and soft.
Looking forward to using them.

Glad to be back in production. My arm did well, but I did have to pace myself from my regular routine.
Also this was first time making mugs in the garage. It gets cold but it wasn’t that bad thanks to the insulation I added.
Now I can relax for the next few days and then get into firing these mugs and glazing them.

After a lot of consideration and seeing the votes, I see that the favor is for dark yarn ties. (Swipe to see)
As some pointed out that the ties shouldn’t distract from the quilt, I went through my stash and found this black merino yarn.
And keeping in flow of this quilt made from recycled fabrics from the thrift store, this black yarn is also from a sweater that was rescued from the thrift store. It was my first unraveled sweater and I still haven’t made anything with it. This seemed just the right use for it.

Almost 4 months since I hurt my arm. Today I sliced some wet clay after so long. Thank you all who ordered and were willing to wait for January delivery.
Keeping fingers crossed it goes well and I don’t hurt myself. 🤞🏼
