Full Circle Equestrian Services, LLC Enhancing the ability, knowledge and health of horse and rider through qualified instruction; education and equine massage Maxwell and Biko.

After 45+years of experience in many different areas of the equestrian industry, Alexandra Philpin founded Full Circle Equestrian Services, LLC to provide qualified assistance in her areas of expertise. With over 30 years of teaching experience as a British Horse Society Level 2 International Instructor, teaching students in the disciplines of dressage and eventing is still Alex's number 1 passion

. In more recent years her teaching has also encompassed riders with special needs. The ability to help students form partnerships with their horses and achieve their goals is both an integral and rewarding part of the job! Alex's experiences have included competing in both dressage (through the equivalent of 4th level) and Intermediate eventing; After moving from the UK to the US, she managed Karen O'Connor (nee Lende) eventing barn and had the privilege of overseeing and caring for many International event horses including The Optimist, Mr. After Karen, Alex worked for Missy and Jessica Ransehousen, accompanying Missy to the 1995 Pan Am Games where she was part of the silver medal winning team. Her association with Missy also lead her to the world of Para dressage at the international level. Alex has travelled to every Paralympic Games and World Equestrian Games since 2004 grooming for US Team members Keith Newerla and Rebecca Hart. After moving to the Midwest in 2002, teaching once again became a priority until 2008 when she was asked to help design, build and manage a multi million dollar warmblood and TB private breeding farm. In 2004 Alex was given the opportunity to create and implement a year round lesson and boarding facility for the YMCA - her 10 year tenure encompassed many areas of business including development, design, fund raising, non profit, serving on boards and committees ., volunteer development as well as building a community based lesson program that gave students the opportunity to learn every aspect of horsemanship and stable management as well as compete. During this time, Alex also became a qualified massage therapist and subsequently an equine massage therapist -
Full Circle Equestrian Services gives Alex the opportunity to combine her extensive experience and be able to offer a wide array of services to clients throughout the US including instruction, massage therapy and Business consultation.

A piece of gold. The difference between pulling the horse around with the inside rein and riding him around with the inside leg to the outside rein. Your inside leg is a conduit to the horses inside hind. application of the inside leg , not holding, will cause the inside hind to step forward with a slight inclination toward the outside rein. The outside leg supports and stops the hind quarter swinging out. It also puts the horse forward to the outside rein creating a sort of triangulation. Everything starts with forward. This is how we develop serious carrying capacity. remember horses are not designed to carry weight. Sitting on them is the most unnatural thing we do. it is our job to take the muscles they have and help them to use them in the most efficient way to do what we want. If you are interested in learning more about how to achieve what i have described in this post see the e book "horses from courses" ( Scott Brodie ) it relates mostly to my system for Re training horses of the track but these classical principles developed over thousands of years work for all horses.
