Watching the Navajo generating station towers fall and being present with the families that worked here everyday was very powerful. The plant hasn’t been operational for over a year but the demolition was that of a visual reality marking the end of an Era. It was bitter sweet for the families I witnessed this with, however the overriding emotion was and I believe will continue to be a huge sense of relief, as the “what’s next” continues to unfold. In 2014, I guided Blind Adventurer Erik Weihenmayer down the Colorado River as he solo kayaked the entire length of the Grand Canyon for 18 days, and 277 miles. This journey became so much more than just an adventure; It tapped into the human sprit, what drives us, how we turn the adversities in our lives into strengths and forge forward to live a #nobarriers life. Erik just released his new book and is coming to Flagstaff for a one time, event Friday April 28th at The Orpheum Theatre in Flagstaff. This will be an amazing, inspirational evening where Erik will give a 1-hour multimedia presentation, we will read excerpts from the book, show a sneak peak of our upcoming feature film about our #grandcanyon project and afterwards have a chance to hang with Erik and members from our team for the after party with a live band, and book signing.
