🏝️Which is the BEST Pool at Walt Disney World and why is it Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort?
Truthfully, anything wet will usually do for kids, but you deserve a pool that is just as exciting as the parks. Here’s why Stormalong Bay is hands-down the pool you’re looking for:
🏖️It’s not just a pool, it’s a 3-acre mini-water park! A lazy river for you, a shipwreck waterslide for them. Win-Win!
🐚It has a SAND-BOTTOM! All the benefits of the beach, but without the saltwater.
🍕Poolside snacks and drinks from Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill mean you never have to leavewhich is great because the kids won’t want to.

All this awesomeness does come at a deluxe price, but the pool alone (never mind the location) makes it worth the splurge!

Can’t decide between Coronado Springs Resort proper and Gran Destino Tower? You really can’t go wrong with either, but let me help break it down for you by sharing a few details:

🏺Coronado Springs Resort oozes a family-friendly Southwest charm and is divided into three distinct areas: Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. Each building has up to 4 floors and the spacious rooms open to the outside in a motel-style fashion with most, if not all rooms having ceiling fans.

Gran Destino Tower is the luxurious counterpart with a more sophisticated, contemporary, Spanish inspired design. It has 16 floors, a rooftop lounge and restaurant and spacious (the largest of all Disney moderate resorts) modern rooms with upgraded amenities, but no ceiling fans.

No matter which area you choose to stay in, you’ll check in at the Gran Destino Tower and everyone enjoys all the resort’s many amenities (4 pools, 2 fitness centers, dining, lounges, etc.) and an unforgettable vacation within a vacation experience. When planning Disney trips with littles and looking at height restrictions for attractions, you may have a fleeting worry. “Will there be enough to do?” “Will they have fun?” Yes and yes. Never ever underestimate the allure of Walt Disney World splash and play areas. These nuggets of good times can be found in all four parks and will be where your little will meet their newest best friend & will ultimately need to be dragged away. 💦

So maybe pack an extra set of clothes for those water play areas so you don’t have to be the meanest parents in the whole world and say NO to splashing around at Walt Disney World because you’ve got dinner reservations and enjoy the magic! ✨

I usually reserve this level of advice for my clients, but in honor of Toy Story Land’s anniversary today, here’s my “Perfect Day at Toy Story Land Plan” (without Disney Genie+):
🌟Slinky Dog Dash: get here first and early (rope drop) for the shortest wait times
🌟Woody’s Lunch Box: mobile order breakfast and enjoy
🌟Toy Story Mania: ride before the crowds really pick up
🌟Alien Swirling Saucers: ride after you’ve digested breakfast and before you eat lunch.
🌟Character Meets and PhotoPass Photos: spend some time walking around meeting characters, even venturing out to Pixar Plaza to meet Joy, Edna Mode and other pals
🌟Enjoy other areas of Hollywood Studios
🌟Return for dinner at Roundup Rodeo BBQ
🌟Ride Slinky Dog Dash again, but at night, it’s a must!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa turns 36 today, and this beauty just gets better with age. (She’s like the George Clooney of resorts!) The most recent refurbishment is literally breathtaking. The sweet touches of Mary Poppins magic is everywhere in the room against a back drop of calming blue. The theme parks are exciting, but the pull to just cuddle up and enjoy this room for as long as possible is going to be STRONG. You’ve been warned. Not all water parks are created equal. I’m sure you’ve been to a local water park or another amusement park’s version and been completely turned off. Universal’s Volcano Bay is here to change everything you think you know about water parks. ⛴️Four ships, the Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Dream, will regularly sail to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s signature island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, offering voyages filled with even more Disney magic.

Tropical itineraries await with sailings from the Pacific Coast and Gulf of Mexico in late 2025 and early 2026, and a third season of voyages will embark across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific on the Disney Wonder from October 2025 to February 2026.

Walt Disney World resorts have some of the best dining around, period. However, the restaurants with all the character fanfare typically steal the spotlight but don’t let some of the unsung heroes go unnoticed. Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort definitely needs an “Aloha” from you. From their famous Tonga Toast and macadamia nut pancakes at breakfast, to their Poly inspired braised short rib or sushi rolls for lunch and dinner, this place has all the character you actually really need.
