This weekend during the Mid-Michigan Pet Expo our group experienced the fun of introducing 79 new teams to the exciting sport of Barn Hunt.
From Great Danes to Miniature Pinchers and every size in between participated.
Met and made lots of new friends who we hope to see at future trials.
Thank you to all our members and friends who came to help during the weekend. They all earned some free runs during our June or September events.

Spring Garden Party trial weekend is June 7-9, 2024 and entries are now open.
Full trials all 3 days and we are excited to have Chris Stubbs from Ohio judging.
Line Drive also being offered twice each day judged by Sharon Keillor & Kim Kern on Friday. Saturday & Sunday will have Melissa Lane stepping into the judges slot.

September event the weekend after Labor Day is open and entries are piling in. There is Instinct thru Master plus Crazy8s all 3 days.
We have our wonderful returning judges Terri Wilp and Brydon Christenson coming up from Kentucky.
They always have some fun courses so come out to play with us!

Barn Hunt Buddies made it official this weekend. Faye became an member of our team. She has worked her majic on all our ratties and is a member of several Facebook rat care groups.
The brand new hammocks and baskets in their cages are her handiwork.

On behalf of all of the Buddies we want to thank you all for supporting us this weekend with food, stockings donations and entries. Our goal is to always have fun trials, beautiful ribbons and great judges.
Huge thanks to our judge Sharon Jonas for all the fun courses and being so gracious to the newbies. Her fun attitude and laughter put everyone in a holiday spirit. you can certainly tell that Sharon enjoys being a judge.

Quick update for our trial weekend. Unfortunately the main heater in the building is not working. We will have a couple Infared radiant heaters that will be running however please dress warmly.

Also don’t forget about the Stocking Decoration contest on Saturday.
On Sunday its Ugly sweater day so drag them out of the closet. Tis the season afterall. See you all soon.

You've been waiting, here they are! IMPORTANT NOTES. These rules are likely to still be tweaked a bit between now and June 1, but not substantially (mostly a few rewordings for clarity plus I'm sure there are still some typos floating around). They do not go into effect until June 1. The attached list are some highlights, but you really need to go read the whole thing (yes, boring maybe to you but exciting for me!). For all the cross references to work, please download all 3 books (a sneaky way for me to get to you read them all!)

Sunnys babies are 2 weeks old today! We can see colors and patterns and their eyes are open. Too early to figure out their sexes. Socialization has already started with daily handling. Our ratties are super sweet and love to work.

Hello all you Barn Hunt Buddies! Now that the weather is starting to get warmer we will be resuming our Private Lessons Monday- Friday only. Since we are both BH Judges weekend are unavailable. Lessons are currently $15.00 for 1/2 hour and $30.00 per hour. Intro, Novice and trouble shooting hides, tube handling and tunnels can be done in our smaller barn. Unfortunately this space does not accommodate the upper levels which require a larger space and more bales. Hopefully we will be able to get our large ring up and running sometime mid- late April .

New rules will go into effect June 1st. Make sure you are up-to-date for our trial June 3-5.

Rules update. Our rules will change June 1. For those of you who are Judges and Club Admins, drafts of all 3 rulebooks will go out to the Judge and Admin forum lists today (first draft Judge rules, 2nd draft Club/Competitor rules). Those are closed lists. However, for everyone, the Rulebooks will be published on or before March 29, for implementation June 1.
There may be a few small tweaks after the initial public posting, but they will mostly be final. l appreciate all of you who sent ideas and suggestions during the commenting period last fall. Not all comments are implemented, but we do read and discuss each one carefully.
