Our Cruise day 3(Tuesday ) was a sea day also happened to be Chad Shoemaker birthday. So to celebrate we all went to the Emerald Steakhouse. I will say the food was good, was it exceptional no but it was good and it was worth the money in my opinion. I do believe that it is meant to be an experience and with that it did take right at 2 hours start to finish which in general if we were 5 adults sitting at a table celebrating a birthday on vacation just talking and having a great time that would be amazing. However we were 5 adults and 3 kids ages 6-8 and we didn’t allow electronics as for them to enjoy the experience and to not disturb others. We did have a great time they were just getting a little antsy about the hour and half mark which I think wasn’t to bad.
Now the food first they brought us all a little mini burger I am assuming was just a compliments of the chef type things they were cute and they were really good I think Ellie ate 2 and half of them and requested her sliders she was having for dinner to be made the same way.
Entrees the guys had steak and lobster
A couple of us had Steak some of the kids had slider burgers and for starters I had the stuffed mushrooms which were really good. Dessert I got the Chocolate Sphere I will be honest I really just got it to video it and take a picture it had pears in it and they are not my favorite but I figured I would be full and not care if I had dessert anyway and I was right lol. Ellie had the Nutella Pizza and liked it. Chad had passion fruit sorbet and it was very tart.
Overall though I will say the food and the experience was definitely worth it but if we had to do it again it would be kid free for our benefit and theirs lol.
Also you will notice I don not have a phot of everything I tend to get caught up in the moment and forget to take photos sometimes.
We have finally made it home and gotten settled from our cruise. We came in to a storm so I will be getting some post together with post about the ship, the ports we went to and just overall the amazing time we had traveling with G G Legacy Travel and family for the last 11 days. All of the experiences we shared and first our kids got to experience together. They definitely formed close relationships. We can’t wait until the next adventure which at the moment is in March on the Carnival Sunshine which you can still go with us on we have some spots still available. A couple teaser photos until I get some actual post together.
We then made our way over to the French quarter and walked around went into some shops tried some pralines Ellie got some Macaroons(they are her favorite but she has only ever had the great value frozen ones from Walmart lol) so she had to have them from Sucrè La Nouvelle Orleans and they were delicious. She had pistachio and Black berry were the 2 she wanted.
We made our way down to the river front where we saw a steamboat leaving Ellie took some pictures of it. Then ……..
We had some really good lunch and we had some red beans and rice they were so good. We went to Gumbo Ya-Ya and the service was great and the food was good.
So we have definitely seen and tried lots of things on this trip now we are back at the hotel soaking up the AC and waiting very impatiently to get on the Cruise tomorrow.
