Did you know Okaloosa Island has "Borrow Bins" at all the public beach access points? Vacationers can borrow beach toys as well as leave items that would otherwise get trashed. Good for the environment AND good for your wallet! The borrow bins outside Emerald Towers West did not disappoint today. Thanks for the goodies! Erase The Trace Okaloosa

October is our absolute favorite month to visit Okaloosa Island. Let me tell you 3 reasons why:
1. The BEST sunsets happen in October!
2. Less tourists, but the weather is still amazing and the water is still warm enough to swim.
3. There are still plenty of events going on, including Tricks & Treasures Halloween at the The Boardwalk, the Pink October 5K, and the DESTIN FISHING RODEO all month!

The comments on this post are the best. But seriously, you will see all kinds of wildlife from the Okaloosa Island Pier! We love taking a walk after dinner and looking for turtles and dolphins. 🐬🐢

The Majestic Osprey is just one of many bird species you can see from the pier. Come take a walk with us, and see them hunt bait fish. The cheapest family experience along the coast! $2 per person which is good all day!!!!
