~SJICF VIRTUAL FAIR FUNDRAISING EVENT (Day 4)~

Day 4 of the SJI Community Foundation’s Virtual Fair, Now Through August 22

Earlier today we asked: Do you know how many Bully sticks we use each year?

We use over 500 Bully sticks a year, at a cost of $2.00 per stick. That equals $1,000 per year, just for Bully sticks alone!

Bully sticks are expensive, but they are one of the safest and easiest chew items to digest on the market. And the dogs LOVE them!

You may also be familiar with the Kong food puzzles. They too are a favorite of dogs. And though nearly indestructible, we use a LOT of Kongs, of various sizes, each year at a cost of $15 - $25 per Kong toy.

Please keep in mind that every day, a dog gets some sort of “enrichment activity” including a stuffed Kong, Bully stick, puzzle dish, etc These items are expensive, but they assure our homeless dogs are happy and healthy so they can find their "forever" home.

~SJICF VIRTUAL FAIR FUNDRAISING EVENT (Day 3)~

Day 3 of the SJI Community Foundation’s Virtual Fair, Now Through August 22

Earlier today we asked: How many pounds of dog food does APS-FH need each year to feed our dogs?

It takes 3,700 lbs. of pet food to feed homeless dogs here at APS-FH each year. That's a lot of doggie dinners!

Perhaps you can see why our annual budget for pet food is $9,200. (Pet food is expensive!) In addition, our shelter animals need enrichment items such as beds, treats, toys, and scratching posts.

And that's why we are asking for your help.
