Texas SandFest is right around the corner! 💙

Here are a few frequently asked questions to help you be prepared for this sand-tastic event:
🏖️ Are there kids' activities? Yes, most of which occur at the South entrance in the Kids' Corner. This includes Lesson Mountain, face painting, fun games, and much more!
☀️ Where is SandFest located? On the beach between markers 13 and 17. The North gate entrance is at marker 13 and the South gate entrance is located at marker 17.
🏖️ Are there places to sit and rest in the shade? Yes, at the main beer tent, the music tent, near logo mountain at the North gate, and by the Kids' Corner at the South gate.
☀️ Can you bring folding chairs or a beach umbrella? Yes, folding chairs are permitted as long as they do not block pedestrian traffic. Beach umbrellas and other shade structures are not permitted.
🏖️ Can you bring a cooler or ice chest? No. Outside ice chests and coolers are not permitted. Outside alcohol is also not permitted, but will be available for purchase within the event grounds. You may bring in water, which is also available for purchase.

It was a Christmas cheer weekend here in Rockport!! A parade, music, and fire works🎄

Little Bay, Rockport Beach Park, Rockport Texas. He did it again! Charlie Ochoa and his posse of pyrotechnicians put on another perfect play. Year after year we get 3 firework displays and Christmas is one of them. We really look forward to these brief forays into fantasyland. Really now, aren't we all kids at heart.....

The whooping cranes are back for the winter!!! ❤️

It's the most wonderful time of the year! We spotted the first whooping cranes of the season in the public area of the refuge TODAY! A family group of three was spotted on our Heron Flats trail this afternoon.

Aransas Bay, Rockport Texas. Hey, let's have a little fun with this post. For heaven's sake the spoonbills sure look like they are. Took this one in Aransas Bay on a rookery trip. birds nesting everywhere on little bitty islands.
