Dreaming of going to Iceland to see the Northern Lights?? What about flying PLAY Airlines an (Icelandic airline) FOR $230 RT!! from Washington DC Dec 8-12th, or pick another value date. Just go to their website and look around for the dates that work for you. KNOW that the lowest fare only includes a personal item (eg backpack) that fits under the seat, but hey, wear that jacket and boots and stuff a few things in that backpack, you don't need fancy clothes for Iceland! Or spend more for a suitcase.

The IdentoGo TSA Pre✓® Mobile RV will be coming to Gainesville Regional Airport from Monday, Dec. 11 -through Friday, Dec. 22, 2023. The Mobile Enrollment Center will be located on the east end of the terminal in the parking lot between the airport's second cell phone lot and the GNV Airport Fire Station, across from the temporary overflow parking lot at GNV.

TSA PreCheck™ is an expedited screening program that enables identified low-risk air travelers to enjoy a smart and efficient screening experience. For TSA PreCheck™ travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. Today, TSA PreCheck™ has more than 450 lanes at 200+ U.S. airports and in Nassau, The Bahamas.

The TSA PreCheck™ application program allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to directly apply for TSA PreCheck™. Once approved, travelers will receive a “Known Traveler Number” (which can be added to a travelers airline profile and reservations) and will have the opportunity to utilize TSA PreCheck™ lanes at select security checkpoints when flying on over 80 carriers that currently participate in TSA PreCheck™.

To save you time and make the enrollment process as smooth as possible, please do the following before you come:

6. Select your desired appointment time. (Please be sure to note your appointment time)

NOTE: Appointments are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis so don’t wait!

IMPORTANT! To complete the application process, you will need to bring documentation proving your identity and citizenship status! If you have a valid U.S. passport, that is all you need for ID. You will finish the process onsite by providing your fingerprints for a background check.

The application fee is $78 (good for five years) and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check. No cash or personal checks are accepted.

I am interested in putting together a group to travel on a Viking or other river cruise this year or next. Viking does a really fantastic job of covering the entire river cruise experience. You can book, air, transfers and the cruise together for less than you could do a land based vacation. PLUS excursions everyday are included. The first Viking I did with my husband the only thing I paid for outside of my trip costs were food in the airport, goody snacks on land and my souvenir.

Silver Airways announced that beginning Aug. 21, it will offer a nonstop route from Gainesville (GNV) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

“A low-cost nonstop route to and from FLL has long been requested by our University of Florida and business communities,” said Allan Penksa, CEO of Gainesville Regional Airport, in a news release. “We are delighted to announce this convenient route on Silver Airways is now available as one more Fly Easy option for our travelers.”
