Somewhere deep in the archives of the Galveston Naval Museum there is a photo album that was donated many moons ago. Rhys was kind enough to show it to me a few months ago and she allowed me to take some photos of the contents.
On this Christmas Day I thought it would be fitting to share some of the photos from that book as they are of Galveston's past. As we celebrate the holidays today with friends and family so did Galvestonians of days gone by. The way they lived was completely different than how we do today but they loved each other just as we do now.
Things are always changing and evolving these photos are from 1914-1917. I hope you enjoy this look at the past. I do not know who any of these people are by their given names those have been lost to time, I only know their affection for each other was real by the looks on their faces.
Spooky Galveston is running the Original Strand Ghost Tour today (Christmas day.) If you want to make some memories & hear stories of the past book a tour at Spookygalveston.com
Regardless of how you spend your holiday I am wishing you a blessed holiday filled with love, laughter and memories that will stand the test of time like the ones in these photos have.
Merry Christmas!
