Wet weather and rough seas on the way! Stay safe!
Saturday Evening Tropical Update:
The National Hurricane Center now gives a 60% chance that a tropical depression or storm will form over the western Gulf of Mexico in the week ahead. Regardless of development, the impacts remain the same for most of the Texas coastal plains: A few days with heavy tropical downpours, dangerous rip currents, 10 foot waves, and minor coastal flooding from elevated tides.
For those of us in Southeast Texas, the greatest impacts looks to begin late Tuesday and continue through Wednesday. Rain totals are still to be determined, but there is evidence to support accumulations surpassing 1 foot if we end up in the direct path of the highest moisture levels. This can occur even with the low pressure center staying south of the Texas-Mexico border.
