How do you keep your market share if you cannot move your cargo?
No ocean bookings available? Prices of some containers exceeding 10000?

NO PROBLEM!

They may be more expensive but our goal is to move the cargo out. REJECTED. No Space. REALLY!

Then, we requested OOCLs who had bookings available for a price of $7,000 for one forty-footer.

Here are some alternatives:

1- Try to convert your cargo into LCL (Less Than Container Load): These containers are already reserved and booked. The chances are you will move faster than awaiting Yang Ming or Cosco. $295 per CBM

2- Sometimes, there is a high cost of doing business. You may want to consider converting some of your cargo by air freight and get it there within one week. Costly, but sometimes necessary. $2.40/KGS

3- Book in advance? A month in advance? Even 45-60 days in advance is reasonable. At least you are planning ahead.
In short, partner with a forwarder that has multiple contracts with the airlines, co-load consolidation service, and air freight. Book in advance and keep on shipping.

Whenever possible, try to book your shipment in advance. Not only can this help save you money, but it can help ensure that there is a confirmed booking available for your shipment. There are no booking fees and no cancellation fees.

Being flexible can help save you 5%, and up to $100 off your freight cost. If you can identify the approximate shipping day, you can take advantage of this offer.

But I am not sure how many boxes will I have. No problem. Let’s say that you book 6 boxes and 2 pieces of luggage two weeks in advance to take advantage of the 5% discount. During that time you added another 2 boxes and an extra piece of luggage.
