Great location very close to the park between the Greenbrier & Cosby Entrances to the national park. Have a blast being with Mother Nature. A privately owned RV, The "Nomad Pad" is an homage to our nickname, the TwoScruffyNomads! Our beloved "Chinook" is unlike anything else you'll find. Everything you need for a BIG time in a TINY space. Exciting new renovation & interior design just completed !
Think mid mod meets the 90's ! (New Photos coming soon)
Welcome to a Nomad's Paradise. We've been the sole owner of this hip, full fiberglass-bodied 21' long Chinook Motorhome and it is THE BEST ! In my opinion no small motorhome compares to the "The Nook." It was hard to transition from our full-time living in this awesome little space, but we decided it was finally time to add just a wee bit more square footage to our nomadic full-time-tiny-house-on-wheels-living, so we recently purchased another small motorhome. We're excited about our decision to "retire" The Nook in a way that will allow others to continue enjoying her here at home in the Great Smoky Mountains. New to staying in a space like this? We had fun making quick video tutorials showing you how to operate each area of the space! Once you book, we'll send you the link to our YouTube Channel where you can see them. We left written instructions as well, but since we're both visual learners we wanted to make it as simple as possible for all of our guests. Enjoy this quiet, woodsy peaceful setting situated along the edge of the GSMNP (Great Smoky Mt. National Park) and only 3 miles from the GSMNP Cosby Entrance. This perfect, convenient location is on privately owned property that has been in the same family for several generations. The property owners, who live on the property as well, are wonderful friendly folks and happily accessible should you need something there onsite in addition to our being available via the Airbnb messaging system and by phone. Stay at the Nomad Pad and you can avoid the busy crowds & traffic jams of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg - except for those times you choose to add shopping or dining to your Smoky Mt. experience. There are also some fun local eating joints you should try nearby our location as well! We've listed a few for you below in the section about the neighborhood/area. We can get you to the Gatlinburg Entrance to the Park using a few back roads that will avoid some of the crazy downtown traffic. It's about a 15-20 minute drive into Gatlinburg, but the road from this area is smooth and straight - unlike lots of the roads around these parts! Although small, the engineers who designed the Chinook's layout were brilliant! Sleeps 2-3 as the couch makes into a small double bed and the dinette table breaks down creating another small bed. (The dinette bed is a little shorter than a standard bed, so just keep that in mind - However, diagonal sleeping gives a little more length!) These two sleeping areas can be used separately or can be used as an all-in-one King size bed. (See Photos showing views of options)
A/C, Furnace, Refrigerator, Microwave, Nice Wet Bath (shower & toilet together), Nice large windows with screens, Screen door, Overhead fan in living space and bathroom, Galley Kitchen with 3 burner Gas Stove & Oven. We've stocked the kitchen pretty well for cooking purposes (pots/pans/utensils/plates/cups/glasses/wine opener/can opener, small blender/toaster/coffee maker with filters, etc) but you'll need to bring your own grocery items to suit your menu - including ground coffee if you're a coffee drinker! We do have lots of spices on hand. We provide all the linens and towels you will need, an extra fan, an extra blanket, a small electric heater for cool vs. cold weather (the Furnace can be too hot for mildly cool weather) We have a portable radio since the built in one went on the blink just the other day. There is a TV with a new antenna, but this is a rural area so channels are limited. There is good Cell Phone Reception in the area, so you should be able to use your phone for wifi and as a hot spot if need be. There is property wide Wifi, but it may be a bit slower than you're used to and signal strength may vary. Oh, and there's a nice fire pit and charcoal grille outside! I think the photos with our listing will be the most helpful in giving you the feel for the space. Remember ... special things come in small packages ! (fyi: Our professional cleaning team, Tony & Eugene, do a thorough professional cleaning between each reservation. We provide all linens, but if you're more comfortable bringing your own linens & pillows, or any other items, please feel free to do so.) Location:
We are on the EAST side of Gatlinburg near an area called Cosby, TN. This is a popular side of the Great Smoky Mt. National Park for its convenience, great road, less traffic getting to the park entrances, and is much quieter and less congested than Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. Although nestled in a beautiful rural mountain setting, you'll still have convenient access to a tiny coffee shop at the bookstore across the street (if you're into books that place is a must), eclectic eating joints, quick markets, gas, etc. Great Smoky Mt.
