Just in time for St. Patrick's Day: a gorgeous, green kitchen. This transformation was a complete kitchen remodel, including the relocation of a doorway and the addition of cabinetry in the dining/serving area. Additional lighting highlights the ceramic tile floors, the glass tile backsplash, and the dolomite countertops.

When we began this remodel of a 1950's-era house in a quaint Gettysburg neighborhood, the owners had already started a partial demolition of the kitchen and bathrooms. In this home, we performed a complete remodel of both bathrooms and the kitchen. Throughout the house, the floors were refinished, and the rooms were repainted. Plumbing and electrical upgrades were made throughout the house. The clean, modern touches, combined with the vintage character of the house make a beautiful home.

This transformation might be a hard one to visualize, because before we started at Mountain's Edge, this area was an outdoor breezeway. Now, this area includes two offices, a powder room, and a closet. This addition connects the garage to the main area of the home. The gorgeous stone wall makes such a statement inside this addition to the home.

The master bathroom at Mountain's Edge now features an expanded footprint with a solid surface shower, heated tile floor, water closet, custom built vanity, Corian countertops, and illuminated mirrors. This fabulous master bathroom is interconnected with the laundry room, walk-in closet, and master bedroom.

If you could have your dream master bedroom, what would be at the top of your list of wants? Would you want a beautiful, sweeping view of the countryside?

At Mountain's Edge, we maximized square footage and the gorgeous view by moving the exterior wall out to utilize the space that was previously an exterior porch. This move also allowed us the incorporate the beautiful stonework into the interior of the room. The new quadruple French doors allow the owners to enjoy the sunrise, as if it was a watercolor painting being created before their eyes. 😍

In the dining room of Mountain's Edge, many small changes compiled to make a big impact in this space.
-The stone wall on the left of the room was previously covered in plaster, but it was exposed and repointed.
-The window was replaced with a Marvin quadruple casement window.
-Old cabinetry was replaced with a custom built-in pantry.
-The brick floor hearth was reduced in depth to maximize floor space.
-All the stone and brick within the house was soda blasted to clean off the grit and grime that accumulated over the years.

Let's not forget the heated tile floor, new paint and trim, and LED light upgrade. And look at all those electrical outlets! Who doesn't wish they had more outlets in their home? 😍

We are pretty sure that Santa is going to appreciate his remodeled entryway at Mountain's Edge. The mantle did not require restoration, but the brick within the fireplace was completely refaced by Gary Redding Masonry. 🎅

Who wants to see a living room transformation? 🙋

Here you can see the space gained through the removal of the wall on the left of the original photo and the character gained through the exposure of the original stone wall. The newly created doorway within the stone wall leads to the office/mudroom addition that was once an exterior breezeway.

The two main floors at Mountain's Edge are finished! We will be working on sharing photos of the finished areas, beginning with this before and after, which illustrates the amount of work that was done in this beautiful home. This photo shows the view from the front door, before the renovation and after the renovation. The reconfiguration of the floor plan and removal of walls maximized the space and completely transformed the interior of this home. ❤❤❤

Quality hardscaping and landscaping greatly impacts the appeal of the exterior of a home. Freedom Landscapes of Gettysburg was here a few weeks ago to transform the walkway and landscaping in front of Mountain's Edge.

Did someone say shiplap?

Each of the rabbet joints in this shiplap ceiling were precisely aligned using a laser. The last few weeks have been busy with completing different elements of the project here at Mountain's Edge, like this ceiling in the basement of the house. There are still many other finishing touches to be completed, but this house is starting to look like a home.

What is that orange floor, you ask?

That is Ditra Heat duo, the uncoupling membrane designed to hold the 800 square feet of Ditra Heat cable that will heat the floor.
