OTD 30 years ago tonight (October 15, 1994) I was at the opening concert at Enterprise Center (Then Kiel Center), it was Billy Joel. I was the ONLY photographer approved to shoot the show (Though I'm not sure how many actually put in for it). Anyway, there was no pit due to it being an "in-the-round" style of concert and no one knew where I was supposed to shoot from, so security was very nice and just kind of showed me a few spots where I wouldn't be in the way. Fun fact: This was the 2nd major show Joel had played in St. Louis in just over 2 months. He also played the old Busch Memorial Stadium with Elton John on August 9 (I was the only photographer there, too). Anyway, this was the time of film photography, and I was still relatively new (only my 5th year shooting shows) and still learning. But I did manage a few decent shots. This year October 15 is the season home opener for the St. Louis Blues. Let's Go Blues! Beat the Wild! Happy birthday, Enterprise Center! The first 30 years have been great. I can't wait to see what comes up in the years ahead. 🎂🎁🎉

So last week I was finally able to see and shoot the Aurora Borealis and tonight I was able to see the Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) (Yeah, easy for you to say lol). I'd say that is a good week haha. Anyway, here is what I snagged tonight. For those wondering I shot it with a Nikon Z9 at f3.2, 70mm, 8 seconds at ISO 400.

40 years ago today the album "1984" was released by Van Halen. I was only 14 when that album came out and they toured in support of it. So, the best thing I can offer from that lineup are some photos from VH's last ever tour here: July 26, 2015. (Note: Original bassist Michael Anthony was out of the band and has been playing with Sammy Hagar since 2006. Eddie's son Wolfgang was playing bass for VH after Anthony departed. So, 3 out of the 4 members who recorded that album.)
