One of my favorite vacations was going on a cruise to Alaska! I really believe this is the only way to take advantage of multiple stops in Alaska. Big changes were just announced from Walt Disney World regarding the overhaul of the Genie+/Lightning Lane system!

On July 24, Walt Disney World will introduce new, simpler names to provide more clarity for everyone. Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.

Disney will also be updating Lightning Lane passes to help guests:
• Make Lightning Lane plans before your visit, for added confidence.
• Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting.
• Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.

Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning July 24: ✨Lightning Lane Multi Pass✨When guests purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, they may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. Guest will also be able to choose available times as they make their selections. On the day of their visit, once they use a selection, they may check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.
✨Lightning Lane Single Pass✨ will work much like it does today, where guests can secure a time to ride one of the most highly demanded attractions, but they’ll now be able to make their purchase and plan in advance.

How to Plan Ahead➡️Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels (Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels) will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.

These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their must-do rides and experiences after they've had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to book and any other plans they may need to consider.

Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.

Lightning Lane passes will blend features from the current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.

We are halfway to the holidays, and guess what!?!? Walt Disney World will be celebrating in style again with returning favorites & new additions during the most wonderful time of the year!

🎄Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will return to the Magic Kingdom! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a limited capacity, five-hour holiday event, kicking off November 8th and running on select nights through December 20th from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. More details to come on this!

🎬Jollywood Nights is Back at Disney's Hollywood Studios! On select nights November 9 through December 21, guests can get holly and jolly for five festive hours from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. during this limited capacity event.

🌎EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays returns starting on November 29th through December 30th! Enjoy festive traditions from around the world with amazing holiday storytellers, delicious dishes, merchandise, entertainment and more, each celebrating unique cultural traditions.

🎅🏽More festive fun this year includes the Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs, the "Frozen Holiday Surprise" in front of Cinderella Castle, Santa Claus will make appearances across the resorts & theme parks, Gingerbread Displays, festival character greetings and much more!

Have you heard the cool news?! Disney Springs is getting a Drone show! The skies above Disney Springs will come alive with Disney's new “Disney Dreams that Soar". This new nighttime spectacular begins May 24th, 2024!

The Disney Live Entertainment team behind this limited-time nighttime experience recently got the chance to see all their hard work take to the skies during the first set of creative rehearsals for the show. Disney just shared those first glimpses from an off-site property, as well as some exciting new details, about the larger-than-life experience soon to be the perfect complement to an evening at Disney Springs.

There are 800 drones – all working together to create a massive canvas in the night sky. Get ready to experience the awe of seeing a Baymax nearly twice the height of Spaceship Earth inflate, transform, and disappear right in front of your eyes! You'll be sure to see characters you love sparkle across the night sky.

🎷Grab somebody, come on down... Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open on June 28 at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World!

This ride will use a virtual queue and is also eligible through Genie+. Be prepared to cool off and get wet on this ride! Otherwise, bring your rain gear!

As you make your way through the bayou to get to Tiana’s party, smile for the camera, as there will be a special photo taken when your "almost there" (get it?😉).
