Saddened to share news of the passing of our good friend Otis Elkin. We have many great travel memories with Otis and Sharon. Services are Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Salem United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. Visitation at 10 a.m. Otis was a kind, gentle man. Our deepest sympathy to Sharon and family.

Do you remember what you were doing on 1-1-11 (New Year's Day 2011)? We do . . . We were in sunny Pasadena taking in the spectacular Tournament Of Roses Parade during our "Roses & The Riviera" cruise tour to California and the Mexican Riviera. The parade and floats were as awesome as advertised.

Saddened to share news of the passing of Bob Benak, a Vietnam War Veteran and one of the original Sports Page Tours travelers. We shared some memorable (and yes, sometimes comical) times and experiences with "Benak" over the years. His presence will be missed but we are comforted to know he is now at peace. Bob passed Friday morning in Omaha after battling a lengthy illness. A Celebration Of Life is being planned for Sunday, January 7, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at the South Omaha Eagles Club (42nd and Sunshine Drive).

Congrats to Ralph for winning the 2023 SPT Cruisers Cup trophy on our recent sailing. Ralph lit up the ship's mini golf course with a sizzling round of 7 under par. Other prize winners were Bob (2nd place), Maletta (3rd place), Phong (4th place) and Nicki (5th place).

This is a pretty BIG DEAL! . . . If you're flying in or out of Omaha's Eppley Airfield sometime over the next 18 months, you might want to download this photo to your phone. Beginning Oct. 27, the passenger loading and unloading areas at Eppley Airfield will be temporarily relocated due to the terminal/canopy construction project taking place at the airport. The passengers most impacted will be those being dropped off or picked up by a family member or friend in a private vehicle as the normal drop-off/pick-up area directly outside the terminal will be closed during construction. Drop-off/pick-up traffic will be funneled into the parking garage during the construction process. Construction is expected to completed in 2025.
