I just came home from a really fun creative class taught by Ella Carlson. She specializes in creating alien creatures in Photoshop using photos of textures and every day items. We used an image of a texture from our files and created our own alien creatures. This is my work in progress. The class was one of several classes offered this year at Great Lakes Institute of photography, which is held once a year. This year, we were at the Doubletree Hotel in Bay City.

Last week, I completed a week long workshop in the Smoky Mountains with Michael and Tina Timmons. What and awesome time! Our small group bonded and friendships were made. I really enjoyed the camaraderie and the awesome shooting opportunities, as well as the excellent teaching. I believe this was the Ogle cabin, just as you enter Roaring Forks Motor Drive, captured in Infrared.

It's been a couple weeks since I posted, so I figured it's time to get bacl into the swing of it. Trader Joe had Irises again! This time, they were deep purple, and they are just beginning to unfold.

Before and after. Just playing with Lucis Pro. I just got it and am experiemtning, as I have not worked with it in the past. I think it is going to be a useful tool in my arsenal of software, to be used in conjunction with my other software. The main effect seems to be that it accentuates texture, and I can see using it when I want to achieve a pencil drawn look - still a work in progress as I tweak the posssibilities. The price was right. Lucis Pro can be purchased now for $30.

Time to jump back in. I kind of fell off the 366 wagon as it has been a busy week or so, but decided to play a bit and photograph a toy cat that was given to me by a friend. I broke out the ulta-wide angle lens for this. just having some fun.:-)
