Stillness is vital to the world of the soul. If as you age you become more still, you will discover that stillness can be a great companion. The fragments of your life will have time to unify, and the places where your soul-shelter is wounded or broken will have time to knit and heal. You will be able to return to yourself. In this stillness, you will engage your soul. Many people miss out on themselves completely as they journey through life. They know others, they know places, they know skills, they know their work, but tragically, they do not know themselves at all. Aging can be a lovely time of ripening when you actually meet yourself, indeed maybe for the first time. There are beautiful lines from T. S. Eliot that say:

'And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.'

allow your own untethering
embrace this as just part of your path
sorrow and joy are often old companions
grief and gratitude invite us to their dance
invite what is within to pour forth
allow your tears
feel what is whispering
reminding your unsteadiness
every ending
calls forth a beginning
let us not be so busy watching what is leaving
that we can not hear the call of what is waiting

Peace on your path,

May you find the patience to hold your fragile spaces,
to be with your shaken heart through what is leaving.
May your compassionate heart offer yourself gentleness,
to keep space and welcoming for what is yet to be.
The skies are shifting, as are you.
The in between can be a lonely spot.
Doubt likes to reside here,
fear grows here when left unattended.
Trust in what you have set in motion,
ask Spirit to walk with you through the barren twists and turns.
Something is waiting to greet you on the other side of this difficult road.
Believe in magic, for that is the way to call it closer.

Peace on your path,

Just for today, I will release the places I grip.
Softly,
I will let everything go.
I will allow the knowings of what's meant to stay will,
offering bittersweet thoughts of what really has passed.
Compassion will meet me here,
forgiveness will walk beside me.
I offer my heart to the moment before me.

When the winds of change blow, do you resist them?
Hold on so tightly to what is not, grasp at the shoulds, try to make it seem other than what it is?
What if you just stood there, rooted firmly yet standing softly?
Turn to face this wind, letting her bite you if needed.
Ask her what she wants, and what she brings.
Allow her wisdom to sink into your every inch,
realizing you were meant for this, and knowing all things change.
Your soul knows her, this wind. If you step aside and let yourself watch in wonder,
you become ripe for your own blossoming.

Just for today I am giving myself to the notion that I am right where I need to be.
Just for this moment I am allowing my heart to relish in its fundamental goodness, its ability to encompass unshakable love and its unquestionable resilience.
I am allowing my guides to lead me to the still waters of many lifetimes, the forests of untold realms and the infinite skies that surround me.
My great wish is that here and now you may feel the same freedom and peace.
Thank you for being here.

Why do we start a new year, with promises to improve?
Who began this tradition of never-ending pressure?
I say, the end of a year, should be filled with congratulation, for all we survived.
And I say a new year should start with promises to be kinder to ourselves, to understand better just how much we bear, as humans on this exhausting treadmill of life.

And if we are to promise more, let’s pledge to rest, before our bodies force us.
Let’s pledge to stop, and drink in life as it happens.
Let’s pledge to strip away a layer of perfection to reveal the flawed and wondrous humanity we truly are inside.

Why start another year, gifted to us on this earth, with demands on our already over-strained humanity.
When we could be learning to accept, that we were always supposed to be imperfect.
And that is where the beauty lives, actually.
And if we can only find that beauty, we would also find peace.

I wish you peace in 2023.
Everything else is all just a part of it.
Let it be so.

THE TEACHING OF THE DONKEY

One day a farmer’s donkey fell into a well. The animal cried loudly for hours, while the farmer tried to find something to do to get him out.

Finally, the farmer decided that the donkey was old and the well was already dry and needed to be covered anyway; that it really wasn't worth pulling the donkey out of the well..

He invited all his neighbors to come help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to throw dirt into the well.

The donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly loud. Then, to everyone's surprise, he quieted down after a few shovelfuls of dirt.

The farmer finally looked down into the well and was amazed at what he saw... with each shovelful of dirt, the donkey was doing something incredible: It was shaking off the dirt and stepping on top of the dirt.

Very soon everyone saw surprised how the donkey reached the mouth of the well, went over the edge and trotted out...

Life is going to throw dirt at you, all kinds of dirt... the trick to getting out of the hole is to shake it off and use it to step up. Each of our problems is a step up. We can get out of the deepest holes if we don't give up...

Use the land they throw you to get ahead!!!

Remember the 5 rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hate.

2. Free your Mind of distractions.

3. Simplify your life.

4. Give more and expect less.

5. Love more and... shake the dirt, because in this life you have to be a solution, not the problem!

In a time where we may be feeling pressured to buy, may we be reminded of the gifts of presence, of compassion, of listening deeply.
When we give of our time, it is priceless.
When we can show up and be authentic, we invite others to shine.
Thanks for your sweet presence.
May whatever you celebrate be infused with deep love.

This is the time to be slow,
Lie low to the wall
Until the bitter weather passes.

Try, as best you can, not to let
The wire brush of doubt
Scrape from your heart
All sense of yourself
And your hesitant light.

If you remain generous,
Time will come good;
And you will find your feet
Again on fresh pastures of promise,
Where the air will be kind
And blushed with beginning.

It's still fall... but I love this:

(And this picture!)

The winter solstice time is no longer celebrated as it once was, with the understanding that this is a period of descent and rest, of going within our homes, within ourselves, and taking in all that we have been through, all that has passed in this full year which is coming to a close... like nature and the animal kingdom around us, this time of hibernation is so necessary for our tired limbs, our burdened minds...the natural tug to go inwards as nearly all creatures are doing is strong and the weather so bitter that people are left feeling that winter is hard because, for those of us without burning fires and big festive families, it can be lonely and isolating. Whereas winter is kind, it points us in its quiet, soft way towards our inner self, this annual time of peace and reflection, embracing the darkness and forgiving, accepting, and loving embracing goodbye the past year.
"Winter takes away the distractions, the buzz, and presents us with the perfect time to rest and withdraw into a womb-like love, bringing fire & light to our hearth".. and then, just around the corner the new year will begin again, and like a seed planted deep in the earth, we will all rise with renewed energy once again to dance in the sunlight

when things feel as if they are coming undone
pause

when your heart feels tired and your bones get weary
breathe

when fear tries its very best to pull you down
trust

whatever is aching will pass
you will find your way
you are never alone

New Moon Blessings!
May the energy of starting anew bring you to your inner longings.
May you devote yourself to what calls you by your own true name.
May you rekindle the spark that has been asking to burn.

Perhaps you can check in with what’s nudging you from the dark spaces, for these rooms are powerful and creative.
You’re not alone, so allow yourself to be rattled.
It’s okay to fall down, for this is but a temporary emergence of pain.
Soon the growth is apparent.
Can you offer kindness to yourself as you shift ?
remind your tired heart it’s okay to slow down and let go.
Trust whatever is chasing you will not be able to hold you back once you look at it clearly.
Under this moon our future selves are inviting us to find what makes us smile, but first we must release what’s stagnant.
💜
Peace on your path,
Tracy

"As I began to love myself
I found that anguish and
emotional suffering are only
warning signs that I was living
against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is Authenticity.

As I began to love myself
I understood how much
it can offend somebody
if I try to force my desires on
this person, even though
I knew the time was not right
and the person was not ready
for it, and even though
this person was me.
Today I call this Respect.

As I began to love myself
I stopped craving for a
different life, and I could see
that everything that surrounded
me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call this Maturity.

As I began to love myself
I understood that at any
circumstance, I am in the
right place at the right time,
and everything happens at the
exactly right moment.
So I could be calm.
Today I call this Self-Confidence.

As I began to love myself
I quit stealing my own time,
and I stopped designing huge
projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me
joy and happiness,
things I love to do and that
make my heart cheer,
and I do them in my own way
and in my own rhythm.
Today I call this Simplicity.

As I began to love myself
I freed myself of anything
that is no good for my health;
food, people, things, situations,
and everything that drew me
down and away from myself.
At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is Love of Oneself.

As I began to love myself
I quit trying to always be right,
and ever since,
I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is Modesty.

As I began to love myself
I refused to go on living in
the past and worrying about
the future.
Now, I only live for the moment,
where everything is happening.
Today I live each day,
day by day,
and I call it Fulfillment.

As I began to love myself
I recognized that my mind
can disturb me and it can
make me sick.
But as I connected it to my heart,
my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection
Wisdom of the Heart.

We no longer need to fear
arguments, confrontations or
any kind of problems
with ourselves or others.

Even stars collide,
and out of their crashing,
new worlds are born.
Today I know, this is Life."

Nothing you love is lost .
Not really .
Things , people .. they always go away ,
sooner or later .
You can't hold them , any more than you
can hold moonlight .
But if they've touched you ,
if they're inside you ,
then they're still yours .
The only things you ever really have
are the ones you hold inside your heart ..

There are no constraints in Life when you learn to flow with it. Flowing is an important quality to be embraced. It is an art. You can and must learn it. When you are flowing with Life, you are not resisting it; therefore, there is no conflict. Whatever is, you are accepting it and are going with the flow of Life. This does not mean you must not work towards changing what you don’t like about your Life. It means that while you are working on changing your current reality, you are willing to be led by the process of Life. This is a beautiful state to be in – contentment, inner peace and Happiness are guaranteed!
