Just a half mile away is this gem. South Main Smokehouse . Some good ole bbq! We’ve only had the pulled pork (cause it’s tasty) but can’t wait to try the ribs.

The middle room: This can serve as a workspace or a sleeping area. You'll have access to fast internet and the futon folds down to become a small bed.

The bathroom: Not much to say here...its a bathroom lol. We supply two rolls of tp, hand soap, safety kit and a hair dyer.

The guest bedroom: Here you'll find a comfy queen bed, a medium sized closet and night stand with a warm reading light. It's a nice cozy place to catch some z's.

The Kitchen: Our large kitchen is the perfect place to gather for a meal or hangout and enjoy a nice board game. You'll have the usual basic kitchen amenities as well as a small coffee pot, k-cup, espresso machine and pour over. What can say...we like coffee! 😁

The master bedroom: You'll find a comfy king sized bed with pull out drawers, a spacious closet, 32 inch tv with an amazon firestick, 2 LED wall sconces with multiple color settings and shelves on either side of the bed.

The hallway: we wanted to add a few maps of our area for guests to see where they are and whats around. Only 22 miles from the Shawnee National Forest, home of Garden of the Gods, you'll have plenty of hiking, site seeing, camping and other adventurous endeavors to experience.

The living room: a cozy place to relax, kick your feet up with our double recliner couch, two vintage reclining chairs, 50 inch Samsung smart TV with a Sony sound bar & sub woofer. It's the perfect area to enjoy a relaxing evening or a lazy day.

Hi! we're the hosts of Betty's Bungalow, Sean and Brooke. When we decided to renovate Brooke's grandparents, Jerry & Betty's old house, we definitely under estimated the journey we set out on but the transformation was well worth it. We took this picture after removing the carpet in the living room and restoring the hardwood flooring that is full of character and looks amazing (at least we think so). Now we open the home to those wanting to explore Southern, IL. There's a lot of memories in this home for Brooke and her family and it’s been an honor to bring new life to the property. If you're looking for a place to get away we would love to host your stay while you discover all that our area has to offer.
