The story of Tidal Fix: When we first saw this cottage-by-the-sea a little over one year ago, we knew we had to have it: the location across the street from Nantucket Sound was simply phenomenal. Add to that the ability to walk to town - we were smitten. We made a deal and then, sadly, the news from our lawyer was not good. You see, the driveway had originally been part of a street that went between the properties and had been deeded to the owners back in the 1950’s. But in the 1970’s, when they sold to the current owners, they forgot about the deed. So the current owners did not have title to the driveway and could therefore not convey title to the driveway. And the driveway was the only parking for the cottage. To buy the cottage without the driveway did not appeal to us. We abandoned the deal after trying to negotiate a reduced price because the owners would not agree. The cottage remained on the market but with no takers. We kept looking at different properties but this one was always in the back of our minds. One Sunday we went to an open house down the road that was a beautifully renovated home right on Route 28. The noise from the road was crazy - motorcycles, revving engines and a constant flow of traffic. I had a thought. What if we reconsidered the cottage - took on the legal issues and saw it through? We went back with an offer and came to an agreement. It took 8 months but our lawyer alerted us earlier in February that we had finally, indeed, fixed the title and would be the proud owners of the driveway abutting the cottage. And there you have it - the title fix that became our Tidal Fix! ❤️🎉🎊🥳

When in Harwich Port you must visit The Wee Packet, a family-owned restaurant in Dennis Port just a few miles down the road. The Wee Packet oozes charm, starting with the name! The food and service were excellent. This area of Cape Cod is full of cute little restaurants like this with long histories and great food. A slice of Old Cape Cod. 🌊 ☀️
