We have had this happen a few times. A friend of ours Ed Maxwell had one to the cheek from what he thought was a snag and the bait came zooming at him.
More recently my husband Todd Dutton was cleaning up his tackle boxes and the dog ran up on him throwing gear everywhere. He and the dog ended up attached by a hook. Thank goodness my neighbor was around to help clip the barb as my dog was of course loosing her mind wanting to run off.
It only takes a second and it can happen to the most safe guys and gals out there.
Dad handled this like a champ. He didn’t scare his young man just explained what needed to happen. Awesome job to all three for being calm and not placing blame.

Guessing this is why we are so slow this weekend.

Toledo Bend Dream

We are Todd and Melissa Dutton. Currently residents of South Louisiana. Todd originally is a mid-westerner from Nebraska. Melissa born and raised in South Louisiana. Todd is a lifetime oil field worker in the commercial diving industry. Being injured in 2007 a change had to be made and even though he continues in this industry, he can longer dive himself. That didn’t change his love for the water. Every chance we get we are in our boat and on the waters of South Louisiana as well as Toledo Bend.

Our dream was to retire to Toledo Bend. As we considered options on how to make this happen we decided why should we wait for retirement. What could we do now to help us achieve our dream. Would chance would have it my husband was looking around on line and came across this listing for Fox’s Lodge. Within days we knew we wanted to see it in person. At first glance we knew. This was our dream. This is how we live at Toledo Bend before retiring. Purchase a business you love and work and play at the same time.

Our dream comes true May 10,2019. We should be fully operational by May 13,2019 as we already have reservations.

We can’t wait to be a part of the Hemphill Comunity. We look forward to meeting all the fantastic regular customers as well as all the new ones we hope to meet along our new journey.
