Two years ago, I was just a girl wandering through the Travel and Adventure Show, unsure of where to start or who to talk to, hoping to find a way to make my dream of working in the travel industry a reality. Fast forward to today, and I’m running my own agency and building my business. When I first walked the floor of the Javits Center, I didn’t know who to approach or what questions to ask. But somehow, I ended up at the ASTA booth, where I not only met incredible people in the industry, but also made some amazing friends. This past weekend, instead of visiting the ASTA booth as an attendee, I had the privilege of standing on the other side—representing ASTA and connecting with so many wonderful people in the industry. I feel honored, grateful, and deeply reminded that with determination, anything is possible.

Some of the most exciting travel I’ve experienced has been throughout Croatia. From the main cities, to island hopping, and throughout the numerous national parks, there’s something for everyone! Here’s how to make the most of your trip to this stunning gem of the Adriatic:

☀️ Timing is Everything: Summer is ideal for beach lovers, though it can be crowded. If you prefer pleasant weather with fewer tourists, spring and fall are perfect.

☀️ Money Matters: The currency in Croatia is the Croatian Kuna (HRK). While credit and debit cards are widely accepted, it's a good idea to carry some cash for convenience.

☀️ Language Basics: Croatian is the official language. In tourist areas, you'll find that English is commonly spoken, but knowing a few basic Croatian phrases can enhance your experience.

☀️ Getting Around: Public transportation, including buses and ferries, is reliable for getting around. Renting a car is a great option if you want to explore more remote areas. In major cities, taxis and rideshares are readily available.
