I often hear people say they haven’t gone to Disney because it’s too expensive. Now if you are looking at taking a family for one day, then yes I can somewhat agree. Just the 1 day of tickets can be pricey, but the longer you stay, the less it is. By your 5th day, the tickets are just $45!!

The “average” cost for a Disney vacation is in the neighborhood of $4500-$5500 for a week for 4.

So let’s break that down a little. For a family of 4, using an average of $4500 for a 6 day trip in January, that’s $1125 per person. Let’s break it down a little more. That’s right at $187 per person per day. And that is for your hotel and admission to the parks AND the Disney dining plan!!

I would bet if you sat down and really calculated your vacations to other destinations up, it would be similar. Or more!

By the time you pay for a hotel, meals, snacks, and admission to whatever you choose to do. At Disney, you have your choice of 4 different theme parks, with attractions ,shows, character meets, fireworks, festivals during certain times of year all included in the price of admission! You have a vast amount of options to choose from.

Think about going to Destin, Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, Branson, any of these places. They are fun, but they get expensive quick. Every little attraction adds up quick. Putt putt, laser tag, dinner shows, theme parks or fair type rides. You could easily drop a few hundred dollars before you even consider meals and lodging.

This is another reason why I love Disney so much. You can pay a $200 deposit and pay on it as you like. When you arrive, your trip is paid for. All except for what you choose to buy when you get there.

When you really sit down and look at everything that is included, it is an amazing deal.

So if you are comparing it to what it would cost you to go to say Dollywood for a day, or even the beach, you probably aren’t taking everything else into account. Just a couple of weeks ago, we stayed for 2 nights at the beach and spent over $1200!! And that only included meals and hotel (no extra activities like waterparks).

Disney is what you make of it. Need to stay value and pack a lunch to bring with you? No problem! Want to stay club level and go all out with deluxe dining? I can help too! I can work with any budget to make the perfect trip for your family.
