This morning felt like something out of a dream — a short walk down a rustic little path led us to a completely deserted beach here in Costa Rica.

Just us, calm clear water, and the sounds of the ocean.

The kids played in the shallows while we took in the beauty — volcanic rocks, tangled mangroves, and trees reaching out over the sand.

No crowds, no noise — just raw, peaceful paradise.

First full day in Costa Rica and it did not disappoint!

Started the morning with Rhys living his best life digging up half the beach, while LouLou was out snorkeling in the crystal-clear water like a pro.

Afternoon was all about pool time — goggles on, kids practicing their snorkeling moves like they were training for the Olympics.

Wrapped it all up with an amazing dinner that hit the spot after a full day of sun, saltwater, and non-stop fun.

Loving every moment of this little tropical escape!

From Houston to Costa Rica — kicked off our Easter weekend at IAH and just touched down at the incredible Andaz Papagayo Resort.

Sun, ocean breeze, and that pura vida vibe — officially in chill mode. Grateful for this little slice of paradise and some much-needed family time.

We spent the day exploring Brussels, which of course meant making the mandatory stop to see Manneken Pis—because what’s a trip to Belgium without seeing a tiny statue of a peeing boy?

And, not to be outdone, we also visited his lesser-known (but equally committed) counterpart… Zinneke Pis…the pi***ng dog statue!

Beyond the city’s quirky landmarks, we soaked in the beautiful architecture, amazing food, and lively streets. Brussels definitely has its own unique charm.

Today took the train to Antwerp, Belgium and spent the day exploring—great food, beautiful streets, and so much history.

Eventually, we found ourselves in a medieval world of castles and cathedrals, and Rhys, fully geared up with his armor and sword, took it upon himself to defend LouLou from any lurking invaders.

Just another day of adventure.

Today we traveled from Lisbon to Mechelen, Belgium, and took a little walk through this amazing, historic town. Quaint streets, beautiful architecture, and so much history everywhere you look. We ended up at the incredible cathedral, where Rhys and LouLou lit a candle for Grandpa Bear and Nana Rie—a quiet, special moment in the middle of our travels.❤️

Today we spent the afternoon wandering around downtown Lisbon, determined to find some great seafood.

Started off at Time Out Market—because, let’s be honest, you kinda have to check it out—but the food just didn’t meet the standard.

So, we kept walking along the seafront, taking in the city, and luckily met a tuk-tuk driver who sent us in the right direction.

That’s how we finally found the real deal—a local spot serving up exactly what we’d been craving: perfectly cooked octopus, fresh and simple, just the way it should be.

Sometimes, you just have to get past the tourist spots to really experience a place. Lisbon eventually delivered.

When I think of Portugal, I think of amazing seafood—and Latitude Restaurant in Luz, Portugal delivered exactly that. Fresh, flavorful, and everything we were hoping for. No complaints here!

Today at Castelo de Silves, Rhys and LouLou transformed into medieval knights, racing along the ancient castle walls and peering over the parapets, their imaginations bringing history to life.

Seeing them embrace the spirit of this place reminded me of how much I loved medieval movies when I was a kid.

Doesn’t matter where you go with kids, you just can’t escape the grumpiness every now and again.

Case in point: dinner in Luz, Portugal tonight. Rhys was not having it, and we’ve got the video to prove it.

Beautiful setting, great food… and a five-year-old making it very clear he’d rather be anywhere else.

My dad was an airline pilot, and when I was a kid, one of his destinations was Lisbon. I grew up hearing stories about the incredible seafood in Portugal. Today, we got to experience it with our kids—and it was everything I had dreamed of.

What a difference a day makes! ❄️⛷️

After our full-on whiteout yesterday, we finally got a little break in the snow (for a while)—and ski conditions were fantastic. Freshly groomed powder, amazing conditions, and just an all-around epic day on the mountain.

And to top it off? Ending the day in a hot tub, soaking up the mountain views with the kids. Nothing like that mix of freezing air and a steaming hot soak after a long day of skiing. 🏔️🔥

Not a bad way to wrap up a ski day!
