Our primary bedroom gets a lot of attention (deservedly so), but this upstairs bedroom is lovely in its own right. Not only is it generously sized with a queen AND a twin bed, but the gorgeous knotty pine vaulted ceiling is honestly just showing off. Not to mention that this bedroom also has the best view of the twin sisters peaks!

The sun rising over the mountains, crisp morning air, the scent of pine needles in the afternoon sun.

I was working on this little embroidery the day we found out our offer on Whiskey Rapids had been accepted. We had put in no less than 4 offers on other locations to no avail. But honestly, thank goodness those other places didn't work out, because Whiskey Rapids is perfection. I think of this little embroidery as my good luck charm, and I'm glad it has a home in the cabin.

Whiskey Rapids is a mountain cabin rental on 2.5 private acres 25 minutes outside of Salida, Colorado. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, knotty pine everywhere, gorgeous views of the Twin Sisters from the front deck. Fully stocked kitchen, movie theater style projection TV, and wood stove for cozy nights in. Peaceful, private getaway.

Spacious bedroom upstairs with vaulted knotty pine ceilings and killer views. This is one of 3 spacious bedrooms in the cabin. This one is great for a family because of the queen and twin, there's even more room on the floor for an air mattress!

I get so excited when reviews come in, I absolutely love hearing about how guests have enjoyed the cabin.

When we first decided to buy a cabin I thought about how we would use it as a family. But as I got into the design process my focus shifted to the guests who would share the space. How they would take trips with their loved ones and make special memories there too, and it became that much more important for me to get it right. I put a lot of thought into how to make Whiskey Rapids comfortable for everyone and tried to make it as easy as possible to relax and have fun there. So getting reviews like this truly makes my day!

This is the back deck of Whiskey Rapids, it is off the master bedroom and is the perfect spot to escape to for some peace and quiet! Even though the front of the house has the most amazing views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, there are definitely some peaks to peek at through the pines off the back. I truly love this spot...surrounded by the pines...breathing in the mountain air...enjoying a cup of coffee.

Log cabin with a modern yet rustic design. We've furnished it with comfortable and stylish furniture, fully stocked kitchen, board games galore, projection screen for movie nights, fire pit outside, bar supplies for cocktails, basically anything we could possibly want on vacation we've put in there for you!
