April 23 Veteran catch and cook trip with Good Karma and Blast n Cast.
There is ONE WEEK left to get your name in the hat. We’re drawing the names for the trip next Saturday!!!
Currently there are 67 Veterans in the drawing, which is awesome!

Here’s the details!!!

We will be drawing 16 names for the morning trip and 16 names for the afternoon trip. 4 people per boat with 4 alternates per boat should someone not be able to make it. The morning trip is the catch and cook. The afternoon trip will not be catch and cook due to time constraints. We still want to take you fishing!!!

All participants will be required to purchase a one day Canadian fishing license. No exceptions. Your catch will be cleaned and bagged for you after your trip.

I want to thank all of you for the interest in this day. Every time I get to take a boat full of Veterans out fishing, it’s a true honor. I wouldn’t be where I am without you all and it’s my privilege to have you aboard.

ATTENTION VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS!!!

We have an addition to the April 23 Veteran catch and cook trip.
We are ADDING AN AFTERNOON TRIP AS WELL!!!
There will be no cooking after the catching with the PM trip due to time constraints but we want to get more Veterans out to at least get some quality fishing in with us!
Good Karma Charters LLC is pairing up with Blast N Cast Guide Service for the day and hosting TWO TRIPS for Veterans and First responders on April 23, 2025.
We are simply going to draw 8 more names for the afternoon trip as well as 8 alternates as back ups should someone not be able to make it. Same thing goes for the morning trip.
We will be leaving from Grayhaven State Harbor for both the morning and afternoon fishing.
A Michigan and Canadian fishing license will be required by all parties. It’s cheap and worth every penny. It opens up amazing opportunities to a world class fishery right at your fingertips.
VERY EXCITED to add this afternoon for you guys n gals. We’re definitely looking forward to it!
We’re going to be taking all names for both the morning and afternoon trip from my original post for the Veterans and First responders.

Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025 Good Karma Charters is pairing up with Blast N Cast Guide Service to take 8 Veterans out for a morning of fishing and then treating them to lunch at Sinbads Restaurant for the catch and cook.

To be eligible you need to simply comment on this post and list your affiliation to your service.
That’s it.

This is open to ALL United States branches of the military, active or retired, as well as first responders.
We will be drawing 8 names for the primary attendees and also drawing 4 (or so) names for alternate attendees just in case those picked first cannot make it.

PLEASE only comment if you are 100% sure you are able to make it that day. We know “things happen” and “things pop up” and we understand that but don’t comment if you have no intentions of showing up.

This day is a lot of fun and I always look forward to this. We eat like kings and have a riot.

With the April schedule up I want to put this out there for the VETERANS! *April 26* is the annual Hooks N Hero’s event on the Detroit River. It’s an absolutely amazing time and we eat like royalty after the event.

The Friday afternoon (April 25) PM slot will look like this:

I’m going to open up FIVE walk on spots at $100 a piece ($50 discount) for Veterans only. If you want the spot, it must be paid in full (Venmo) when you book it.
You can find a decent hotel nearby and make a really fun weekend out of it if you get in on the Hooks N Hero’s event too.

Detroit River schedule!!!
April 11 through May 4
Same prices as last year as well. Not raising it.

1-3 is $450 and a 4th angler is $75 more. All fish are cleaned and bagged for you after your trip at no extra charge!
$100 deposit due at time of booking. I will edit this post as the dates fill up.

Last fishing trip of the year was yesterday. Officially
We made the last trip count with a solid 12 hours on the water with lines in the lake. I had a blast out there (as always) and could have stayed out longer!! Nothing I like more than being on that boat!!!

Karrie and I made a run for the Michigan waters of Lake Erie and launched out of Bolles Harbor. We fished from 2am Thursday morning until 2pm Thursday afternoon searching for the walleye that would win us some cash (or a boat) and never found it. But, we did find 12 really REALLY nice walleye that wanted to come home for dinner with us 😉
I wanted to make this post yesterday but after being awake for over 36 hours straight I decided to wait until this morning hahah.
We had an absolute riot out there as we always do and can’t wait to get back at it in 2025!!
Now to break out the small boat and fun fish some local lakes until the ice tells me I can’t.

Hope to see you all at the fishing shows this winter! Stop me and say hi!!!
