Rideshare Uber and Lyft Issue now: ( please read)

I’ve worked for both for 8+ years but now provide a much better service and am contracted with Carnival because I an so highly recommended. Rideshare is basically REAL PEOPLE who have the constant overwhelming challenges of increasing gas prices and decreased pay from the companies. 99% of the drivers here are no longer agreeing to do rides to and from Galveston bc they barely get reimbursed for the gas it costs and there are not usually return riders coming from Galveston to help it make sense. It’s 45 miles from Hobby and 82 from IAH. $50 is an insult to the drivers at $5/ gal. No way does it make sense and they are tired of the rideshare company pricing the rides so low that they end up losing money. It’s basic math . It doesn’t matter what the internet says, these people have families to feed and IF THEY TAKE THE RIDE( most refuse) they will be asking you to pay them directly ( off the app) or you will need to find a driver ( usually a vehicle too small for the luggage) that may take you. We have been telling people that WE DO THIS EVERY DAY. We try to warn people that RIDESHARE HERE IS SKETCHY AT BEST. Try it if you like but don’t say you didn’t know. Should be a better deal for the driver but they no longer do long rides for a loss in income. Nobody goes to work to get underpaid. Everyone here that has been burned by rideshare or missed a flight or cruise bc they “ couldn’t find a ride” will DEFINITELY tell you it’s true. Also they are going on a nationwide STRIKE in July. I’m not sure that would be the way I plan on getting to my hotel or port with my family. I would like something safe, dependable and timely. They were great when the pay was fair. I made a great living but now, it’s a joke to drivers. I wish it wasn’t that way but drivers have to eat too. 45 miles to Galveston from Hobby is 90 miles for the drivers for ..$50? That’s what you pay but they only get about $19!Nope. IAH only pays them about $60 to go 82 miles Roundtrip which is at least 160 miles. They DEFINITELY SAY NO. I’m so glad you asked. Bush to Galveston is at least worth $150 to a driver. Hobby is at least worth $100 minimum. Ask any driver. They will agree!
