We had a really fun couple join us for a flashlight tour of the jail tonight. As we walked through the jail talking about the history and haunts, we had several unexplained experiences, including hearing a child speak and being touched on the 3rd floor!

We had such a fun and busy weekend! A part of that included a “Criminal Minds” themed birthday party! This great group of kids beat the escape room with 30 seconds to spare, and then had pizza and cake in our maximum security cells!

We wrapped up the weekend with a Sunday night flashlight tour. This fun family traveled down from the Virginia Beach area to listen to the history and hauntings of the jail. We even had some interesting and unexplained activity happen during the tour! We thank them for including us as a stop on their vacation.

It's been a busy weekend for evening tours at the Historic Scott County Jail. We kicked Friday the 13th off with 2 best friends who wanted to spend the evening doing a 3-hour guided ghost hunt. Then, on Saturday night, we had 3 groups join us for a nearly sold out flashlight tour.

This video is another example of unexplainable things that happen during the day here at the Historic Scott County Jail. This was just after 4pm on a Saturday and Miranda was in the building alone. She had just finished closing for the day and getting everything ready for the evening tours. As she entered the first floor, something knocked on the elevator doors. Miranda grabbed her phone in an attempt to get whoever knocked on the elevator door to knock again. (NOTE: It's best to listen with headphones because not only did the video capture the knocking, but also 2 disembodied voices.) The elevator does not work at this time and we've had officers and former inmates tell us that while the jail was in service, several had eerie experiences in the elevator and that it would sometimes run on its own.

It was wonderful having several members of the Blue Knights TN IX Chapter stop by for a tour of the jailhouse museum on Saturday! The Blue Knights are an international motorcycle club consisting of active and retired law enforcement officers. They also gave us a challenge coin to add to our law enforcement appreciation wall! Thank you for your service and for choosing us as a ride destination.

It's hard to believe that three years ago today we unlocked the doors and opened this Scott County treasure as a true crime museum and paranormal research center. In the past three years we have opened the jail museum, been guests on numerous national and international radio shows/podcasts, featured in a music video, international TV show, welcomed visitors from around the world, hosted paranormal investigation teams from across the country, won 4 Tennessee Association of Museums awards and formed a partnership with Historic Rugby Inc. We can't thank you enough for all of your support and encouragement over the past 3 years. Big things are on the horizon and we've only just begun!

Law enforcement officers tend to have unique experiences at the jail and this team is going to use that to see if this helps them to get activity.
