This statue of Sam Houston is the world's tallest statue of an American hero and was built by artist David Adickes. The Sam Houston Statue, "A Tribute to Courage," stands 67 feet tall on a 10-foot base. Within the Visitor's Center, you will find an assortment of visitor information including unique videos, brochures, and maps. You will be greeted by a friendly Texas ambassador, who can help plan your day. We also have a Gift Shop located at the Visitor's Center. To get to the statue and Visitor's Center, take Exit 109 or 112 from I-45.
