Almost had a coyote down by a bow hunter, but you know, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Tony Tebbe Signature Sounds "TT Coyote Grab Ass" brought a pair in and Mila kept them busy. Would have been dead from a rifle no doubt.

After Daron harvested his elk on day 4 it gave us the chance to give a full day dedicated to his mule deer tag, we had glassed and passed on a lot of bucks in the prior days. With an elk in the freezer we felt 0 pressure, just looking for a dandy. We had a couple bucks in mind but relocation proved to be difficult and after checking a whole new spot and turning up nothing I started to get unsettled. Daron was the opposite, he was not worried about anything. In the last hour of light I found this pretty buck working his harem of doe. A quick stalk, a quick shot and a quick drop = a cherry on top of a great, 100% harvest, 4th rifle season.

The afternoon of Day 4 Daron and I found a herd working an oak brush infested mountain side. For hours we watched them feed and bed while we told stories. As the evening came around we found this bull and decided it was time to take a shot. This elk was special to me. Not only did I get to guide a great father/daughter duo and listen to all the amazing stories, this was also my 10th elk harvest this year! An incredible year with incredible people.

4th rifle went off with a bang, day 2 Elizabeth wacked this bull, after a long night of tracking blood we backed off and got rested for the search to continue in the morning. We started going back to our last sign of blood, got 150 yards from the truck and Bingo! There he laid. We were so pumped we scared everything out of the woods around us!!

Day 4 of 3rd rifle. Phil and I spotted 3 bulls feeding up a ridge. We raced up 1000 feet to try to catch up....no luck, the bulls ghosted us. The next 8 hours were miserable, snowing and blowing and cold! We made a fire and waited out the storm on top of the mountain. Finally the storm broke. Working the ridge line, I glassed up a bull bedded in the bottom a long ways away. We put on an amazing stalk picking our way through the brush and timber. We snuck into 150 yards...the bull had no idea we were there. FYI Phil has 1 arm, I was amazed how he climbed and descended this steep rugged terrain with me for 4 days. What a warrior!

Opening day 3rd rifle, right at first light I spotted a bull bedded on a ridge. Kyle and I made a stalk to get into a good position for a shot but as we were setting up the shooting sticks he got up and walked away...busted. Back to our original plan, we turned around and climbed the mountain. Once we got to our first glassing spot Kyle found a couple bulls feeding in the thick woods right below us. Patiently waiting for a shot opportunity, Kyle saw the opening and took the shot. His first bull elk harvest.
