I can’t count how many times I sat in class as a kid thinking to myself “if I was the teacher I would do so much better.” For a few stray years, I even came to the conclusion that I should go to college to become a teacher just to prove how much better I would be. After meeting teenager Me, I realized it wasn’t worth proving my point. Fast forward some years and I find myself working in
a retail memorabilia store to support my collecting habit. It didn’t take long to realize that collectors like myself weren’t the focus. As I am working, I become more and more frustrated and started reading books and articles about small businesses and how to improve customer service. I end up reading a couple of things that made sense. One thing told me to take my hobby and turn it into a business. The other told me figure out I didn’t like about that particular industry and fix it. If you take the first suggestion and add it to the second, you get Legends and G.O.A.T.s! The goal is to help every customer feel what I felt when I got my first autograph. Should we make it big and become a trivia question, my first signature was Don Mattingly. Or the feeling I felt when I met Dwayne Johnson. At Legends and G.O.A.T.s we want to make athletes and celebrities accessible to everyone. If we can’t facilitate a meeting, at the very least we want to provide quality autographs on items or photos that invoke emotions and memories. It is 100% about the experience. Whether that is meeting your childhood idol or finally getting that piece you have been chasing for years, our goal is to be a part of that experience and make sure it is something that is never forgotten.
