Nilsen and Madison got down to Texas from Philadelphia as soon as they could! Hearing that we take furbabies on our dolphin trips, they knew Baby Lou and Ralphie had to come with them on Monday’s Baby Watch Tour! Baby Lou is a rescue and his personality is shy and super sweet! He started tracking the beasties immediately while Ralphie took a snooze on the bench seat! Yes, we saw at least four newborns in La Quinta channel. One of the newborns was still learning how to swim.

A shout out to Warsaw, Poland and the Skorupski family! Thank you for making our day! Piotr, a private pilot, brought his wife Gosia and daughter Navia with him for an Extreme Dolphin Watching tour. That means everybody got wet and bit their tongue a time or two when the chop hammered our boat. It’s all good and we had fun!

Veronica and Armando brought Zeus to see the Bottlenose dolphins in La Quinta International shipping channel. They came to the US from Venezuela and now run an ethnic food truck in Midland- very successfully I might add. We saw the usual cornucopia of wild beasties including a days-old newborn! It was a se habla espanol tour! Les gusta el viaje de delfines! Buena suerte mis amigos nuevos!!!!!

Angela who founded a 100% volunteer nonprofit rescue called New Mexico Dog
in 2010 serving chained & abused dogs jumped onboard today for a very special venture out into Ingleside Cove and points beyond! Angela confided that her work with abused animals is very hard, but a labor of love. Angela rescued Roadie from a lifetime of living on a chain, which took his rear left leg. Roadie did a great job getting around the boat and spotted the bottlenose beasties immediately.
Angela said the dolphin trip “recharged my soul.”

Charley and Wassim brought their best friend Olly along Saturday! Olly was as sweet as his picture. From Houston they jumped in their car for a spontaneous vacay in Port Aransas. Port A as the locals call it is about 40 minutes from Bahia Marina in Ingleside. We’re glad they made the drive!!!

Girls dolphin trip last Monday! Jasmine, Lorie, and Kate! We saw so many dolphins we literally lost count. Lorie was a great addition having completed her term paper on dolphin behavior! She expertly explained that dolphin mothers will discipline their calf by holding it on the bottom until it starts to ask for air! Okay, and I thought restriction was bad.

Thank you Lynn for taking the first furry friend dolphin tour of 2024! Lynn brought Begonia and Bija along Friday. They took to the boat after a little coaching sporting some fancy life jackets! Two dolphin pods swam around the boat showing off their babies. The calves breached tne surface again and again.

When there is a swimmer in peril, a surf lifesaver and dog will either approach from the beach or launch themselves out of a boat to help. Sometimes a team is even dropped from a helicopter. There are approximately 300 canines performing this type of action off the Italian and Croatian coast.
